After taking our seats, we tried the self-bar first. The tank had all kinds of shellfish ready — giant clams, scallops, abalone, Manila clams, Venus clams, surf clams, hard clams, and more.

The tank was kept clean, so we could pick our shellfish worry-free, and with so many varieties we could grab a little of each and taste a bit of everything. Note that the shellfish selection may vary slightly depending on the day's supply.

How the unlimited refill works: grilling shellfish and meat at the same time

Everything you need — plates, gloves, tongs, even scissors — is already set up at the table! Once you've brought shellfish and meat from the self-bar, you just grill and eat: one side of the pan cooks shellfish while the other cooks meat, so you can enjoy both at the same time, which I liked.

They loaded the grill full of scallops, abalone and other shellfish and cooked them right away — thanks to the strong heat, everything cooked quickly without much waiting.

The scallops we tried first, dipped in cheese and chojang (vinegar-chili sauce), had that salty flavor plus savoriness and a sweet-tangy kick — total deliciousness..!

The abalone was so fresh you could actually see it moving, which made it even more appetizing, and even grilled it wasn't chewy — it kept that firm, springy, chewy texture perfectly. The quality was hard to believe for an unlimited refill place, so it exceeded my expectations. 😋

When eating grilled shellfish, you can't skip the combo of scallops topped with corn cheese and chojang, grilled together!

Thanks to the savory, sweet corn cheese, even shellfish beginners can eat it without worry — a foolproof combo for anyone new to shellfish, haha.

We cut up the big adductor muscle from the giant clam and ate it — thick and springy, the texture was spot on.

Meat and kimchi on the other side of the grill

On the other side of the grill, the meat was cooked together with kimchi and garlic, so the kimchi turned golden and soaked up the meat's fat — great to eat together, and it was also fun to alternate between shellfish and meat.

The meat itself was fresh and full of juice, with no off smell, so it was a hearty part of the meal.

There were also plenty of easy sides to grab in between, like dumplings, sausage, chicken nuggets, kimchi pancake and corn dogs — nice to snack on throughout the meal.

Finishing with shellfish ramyeon and fruit

Of course, the meal has to end with ramyeon 🍜

They cooked it with shellfish added, and the refreshing broth that came from the shellfish made for a rich, clean finish — perfect way to wrap up the meal, haha.
