24-hour Suwon Korean restaurant for pork bone soup
In short
Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch is a 24-hour Korean restaurant in Ingye-dong, Suwon. I took home cooked spicy and regular pork bone soup; the spicy version was genuinely hot, while the tender meat had no off smell. Verdict: a hearty choice for a hot, peppery meal.

It had been a while, but I suddenly got a craving for ppyeo haejangguk (pork bone hangover soup), so I headed to Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch. With a name like Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk, I was curious what it would taste like, and it turns out you can choose your pork bone soup to suit your preference, from mild to regular to spicy. Definitely the kind of place that would catch the eye of anyone who loves haejangguk.
Location and parking at Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch

The restaurant is along Gyeongsu-daero, so it was easy enough to find, and I could use the building parking lot, which made driving over convenient too. What I especially liked was that it is open 24 hours, so you can eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even a late-night meal. Ingye-dong does not have as many late-opening restaurant choices as you might expect, so this seemed like a good stop when you want a steaming bowl of soup and rice.
A comfortable interior for dining alone

The inside was fairly spacious and pleasant, with an atmosphere that did not feel awkward at all for a solo meal. Since haejangguk is the kind of thing you can finish in one go, it makes for such an easy meal haha.
Pork bone soup spice levels and takeout options

The menu includes pork bone hot pot, pork bone soup, and seonji haejangguk (ox-blood hangover soup), and you can choose extra-spicy, spicy, regular, or mild for the pork bone and seonji soups. I ordered one spicy and one regular soup to take out. You can choose cooked or uncooked takeout, and they say the uncooked option comes with one extra bone. Since I wanted to eat as soon as I got home, I chose the cooked option, hehe.

If you dine in, dessert ice cream is free!! I missed out because I took mine home, but next time I need to eat at the restaurant and have the ice cream too, haha.
Self-service side dishes
The essential haejangguk-house sides—kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) and pickled onions—are available to take as much as you want from the self-service bar~
Soup for one, pork bone hot pot for a group

Beyond the regular pork bone soup, there are several choices including special pork bone soup, seonji haejangguk, and pork bone hot pot. I thought soup would be great when visiting alone, while a group could order the pork bone hot pot. You can add noodles or fried rice to the hot pot, so it looked like a more varied option for several people. Above all, being open 24 hours is one of its biggest advantages—you can visit without worrying about the time.

Cooked takeout: spicy and regular
Packed up already cooked! The order came with two pork bone soups, a dipping sauce for the meat, pickled onions, kkakdugi, and bowls of rice.

I hurried it home and set everything out right away, haha. I had taken home the spicy and regular versions, and the spicy soup was definitely much darker in color!! It was quite hot too, just as its color suggested 🔥🔥 There were maybe three or four bones, and there was no off smell, so I enjoyed it.

With its peppery broth and tender meat from the bones, Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk made for a really satisfying meal. It seemed like a good place to stop by in Suwon's Ingye-dong when you want a hot bowl of pork bone soup or really want to soothe your stomach with spicy broth.

The spicy version was honestly much hotter than I expected, and I was sweating buckets while eating it haha. I think people who love spicy food would enjoy it too. Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk was an easy, solid Ingye-dong spot where you can mix rice into the soup and finish a bowl in no time. Since it is open 24 hours, it would be nice for a late-night hangover meal too!
