1992 Deopbap & Jjageuli Gangnam Main Branch, a Gangnam Station favorite, is a Korean restaurant showing off deep flavors based on traditional Jeolla-do cooking methods.
📍3 minutes from Gangnam Station Sinbundang Line Exit 3. It's right next to the exit, so it's easy to find and convenient to drop by.
Walking into the alley by the crispy donut shop and up a bit of a hill, the sign for 1992 Deopbap & Jjageuli appeared on the right.

There are terrace seats out front, and since there are a lot of offices in the area, there were plenty of takeout customers too — the system made it easy to grab and go.

Why it's great for solo dining near Gangnam Station: bar-table solo seats and self-serve bar
The moment I walked in, the solo seats caught my eye first! A lot of places make you feel awkward eating alone at lunch, but this looked like the perfect spot to eat solo. The wall-side seats were a bar table set up for solo diners. Nice touch — there were chargers dotted around too.

Water dispenser, hair ties / toothpicks, wet wipes / candy, yakgwa (traditional cookies) / even mouthwash — the self-serve bar was really well stocked. The restroom is inside the store too, so I used the mouthwash after eating.

Aprons are also placed somewhere visible.
How to order at the kiosk and the menu lineup
At the entrance, you can order and pay using a kiosk.

Once paid, you can grab your drink from the fridge right next to it.

Mixing deumppuk jjageuli (kimchi jjageuli) into egg rice
Kimchi jjageuli

Egg rice

Adding the jjageuli and finishing with seaweed flakes and sesame oil, then mixing it all together.

It's got tender meat plus zucchini, potato, and all kinds of vegetables in it.

Savory and salty in just the right way — a flavor no Korean could dislike.

Eolgari-geotjeori bibimbap, tofu kimchi soup, and side gimmari

Packed with eolgari-geotjeori (young cabbage kimchi) and lots of vegetables.

Again, sesame oil goes in and it all gets mixed together. It smelled delicious even before the first bite!

Whatever they do with the sauce, it's genuinely delicious and savory.

The tofu kimchi soup that comes alongside. Basic side dishes are kimchi, pickled radish, and yellow radish.

The gimmari ordered as a side was crispy too.

At the tray return area, you can even sort your trash for recycling.
