Pet-friendly Vietnamese restaurant near Ajou Univ, Suwon: Madam Hao
In short
Madam Hao is a Vietnamese restaurant a 5-minute walk from Ajou University in Suwon, Gyeonggi, where Vietnamese owners work as both chefs and servers. The writer ordered beef brisket pho (양지쌀국수) for 11,000 won and bulgogi bibim guksu (불고기 비빔국수) for 12,000 won, alternating between the cool broth and the unfamiliar sauce, and found a semi-outdoor area where pets are allowed if they stay in a carrier. Apart from the double parking beside the restaurant, Madam Hao is an easy pick for lunch or dinner near Ajou.

How many cars can park at Madam Hao?
Madam Hao has parking for up to 4 cars beside the restaurant, located a 5-minute walk from Ajou University at 49 World Cup-ro 193beon-gil, Yeongtong-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi. Just keep in mind it's double parking, so you might have to step out mid-meal to move your car.

Madam Hao is a Vietnamese restaurant that keeps the traditional flavors of Hanoi intact. I stopped by while passing through the Ingye-dong area for a dinner appointment. There are plenty of franchise pho shops and general Vietnamese restaurants around Suwon City Hall Station, Ingye-dong, Suwon Station, and Ajou University, but compared to those, Madam Hao clearly stood out — Vietnamese staff run everything themselves, from the kitchen to the serving. Unlike many Korean-run Vietnamese restaurants that reinterpret the local flavors, this place felt like it kept as much of the authentic Vietnamese feel as possible, serving hearty meals by day and a good-vibes bar by night, making it a standout among Ajou Univ pho spots.
Inside Madam Hao: atmosphere and bringing a pet
Maybe because it's newly opened, Madam Hao was extremely clean and tidy, and pets are welcome if kept in a carrier. Besides the indoor seating, there's also a semi-outdoor space with an open feel, adding some variety to the atmosphere.

I don't think I've ever seen a restaurant that captures the Vietnamese feel this well — you could tell a lot of thought went into the interior. The space overall is spacious with plenty of tables, so even a bigger group could sit comfortably.
Madam Hao menu and prices
Madam Hao's menu focuses on Vietnamese dishes like pho, bibim guksu (mixed noodles), bun cha, and banh mi. Since it's run by a Vietnamese chef, there are also special dishes you won't find at typical Vietnamese restaurants — highly recommended if you love Vietnamese food!

The dishes I ordered this time were beef brisket pho and bulgogi bibim guksu. Together, the ₩11,000 beef brisket pho and ₩12,000 bulgogi bibim guksu come to ₩23,000, but ordering just one dish per person still makes for a hearty meal in the ₩10,000-range — a comfortable price point for an Ajou Univ lunch.
How the 11,000-won beef brisket pho tasted
Madam Hao's beef brisket pho (양지쌀국수, ₩11,000) is known for its refreshing, cool broth. The first spoonful hit with that cool broth flavor right away.

The first taste is clean, and a subtle savory depth builds as you keep eating — the broth itself is clear and refreshing, so I kept spooning it up. The brisket was tender along the grain, moist rather than dry.

The unusual sauce on the 12,000-won bulgogi bibim guksu
The bulgogi bibim guksu (₩12,000) comes with an unusual sauce. It felt a little unfamiliar at first — the aroma and savory notes were different from the bibim guksu sauces I'm used to, but once mixed with the noodles, it turned into something familiar yet new. The more I chewed, the more the salty savoriness of the bulgogi blended with the subtle aroma of the sauce, and I kept going back for more.

If I had to name a foolproof combo, I'd recommend alternating between the cool broth of the beef brisket pho and the unusual sauce of the bulgogi bibim guksu — soothing your stomach with the broth, then enjoying a different kind of kick with the bibim guksu. The pairing worked really well.

Final verdict on Madam Hao near Ajou University
Madam Hao is a place I'd recommend for pho and lunch near Ajou University. You could really tell the difference in the broth, given it's run directly by Vietnamese staff, and the spacious, clean atmosphere was satisfying too. I'd also recommend it to anyone looking for Vietnamese food in Suwon or exploring Gwanggyo, and in the evenings it works well as a good-vibes bar too.
