In short
Gyeomson Donkatsu Geomdan Branch is a pork cutlet restaurant near Wanjeong Station and Majeon-dong in Geomdan, Incheon, serving Japanese-style and Western-style (gyeongyangsik) cutlets under one roof. Arriving right at opening on a weekend with her husband, the writer ordered the combo cutlet at 16,000 won and the gyeongyangsik cutlet at 14,000 won, each set out as a full table with curry, black rice, soup, cabbage salad, pickled onion and diced radish kimchi. Today I'm bringing you my first visit review of a Geomdan favorite — tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) — where my husband and I went for a weekend brunch, timed right at opening 🍖 Even though we arrived right when they opened, there were already 2 tables seated ahead of us! You could immediately tell this place has real word-of-mouth buzz among Majeon-dong restaurants 😊 If you're looking for lunch near Geomdan Intersection or udon and tonkatsu near Wanjeong Station, read on!
What kind of place is Gyeomson Donkatsu Geomdan Branch?
Gyeomson Donkatsu Geomdan Branch is a tonkatsu specialty restaurant located near Wanjeong Station and Majeon-dong. The biggest draw is that you can enjoy both Western-style (gyeongyangsik) tonkatsu and Japanese-style tonkatsu in one place! It's perfect for going with someone whose tastes differ from yours 😊
There's a reason this place keeps being loved as one of the go-to Geomdan tonkatsu restaurants among Majeon-dong spots. With a new road opened connecting Geomdan New Town to old Geomdan, access has gotten even faster! Highly recommend it as a lunch spot near Geomdan Intersection too 😊

Where is it and is parking free?
It's located at 46 Wanjeong-ro, Dong 3, Seo-gu, Incheon, near Wanjeong Station and Majeon-dong. There's a free parking lot right in front of the restaurant, so parking is never a worry 🚗 It's also perfect for a drive-and-visit combo now that Geomdan New Town has a new road!
Inside the restaurant: seating, hall and solo bar seats
I was impressed by how big and charmingly decorated the Gyeomson Donkatsu Geomdan Branch space is! The spacious hall is dotted with cute little interior decor pieces, so even the brief wait was fun to spend just looking around 😊 The roomy hall and plentiful seating make it great for bringing kids, family gatherings, or friend meetups!
There are also bar seats near the kitchen, so solo diners can visit without any hesitation!

Combo cutlet 16,000 won and gyeongyangsik cutlet 14,000 won: two styles in one visit
This time at Gyeomson Donkatsu Geomdan Branch we ordered the combo tonkatsu (₩16,000) and the gyeongyangsik tonkatsu (₩14,000)!

Combo cutlet: Japanese-style pork cutlet done right
This totally felt like eating an authentic Japanese-style tonkatsu! Crispy coating with the meat's grain still visible in the texture. Being able to try several cuts at once made comparing the different flavors really fun 😋

Gyeongyangsik cutlet: the sweet brown sauce is the highlight
The sweet gyeongyangsik-style sauce really stood out! It's exactly that nostalgic Western-style cutlet flavor from childhood. Since it's a completely different flavor direction from the Japanese-style cutlet, switching back and forth between the two dishes to compare was really fun 😊

Dipping the cutlet in the free curry sauce
The Japanese-style cutlets come with curry sauce on the side, free of charge! Eating with the base sauce first, then switching to curry sauce, gives you a completely different flavor. Mixing in the special sauce, mustard, wasabi, and Himalayan pink salt let us enjoy it in so many different ways, haha 😄
What comes with the full table setting
Along with the tonkatsu, the table comes fully set with curry, black rice, soup, cabbage salad, pickled onion, and diced radish kimchi all at once, and each side dish is generously portioned and tasty, which really shows how much care the owner puts in 😊
Having the cutlet and side dishes all arranged together as a full spread from start to finish is this place's unique charm!
Next on the list near Wanjeong Station: stir-fried udon
There's a hidden menu item I'd strongly recommend if you're after udon near Wanjeong Station — the stir-fried udon! A table of four people who work nearby sat down behind us, and all four of them ordered the stir-fried udon, haha 😄 It clearly seems to be a hidden favorite among regulars. I'm definitely ordering it next time I visit!
Is Gyeomson Donkatsu good value for the price?
Gyeomson Donkatsu Geomdan Branch really delivers high satisfaction for the price among Geomdan tonkatsu restaurants! The prices are reasonably set, but the real value point here is just how generous the portions are. Add up the cutlet plus the full table of side dishes, and you'll leave completely full and satisfied 👍
