Seongsu brunch with no weekday wait: polpo mambo at Billadeubeulleu

I recently visited Billadeubeulleu Seongsu (빌라드블루 성수), known around Seongsu for its great atmosphere and pretty interior. I'd been wanting to enjoy good food somewhere with nice vibes, so I searched hard for a Seoul Forest brunch spot and ended up booking a table with a friend the day before. Since the break time is pretty generous, we decided to go at 2pm haha!!

Where is Billadeubeulleu Seongsu, and when is it open?

Here's the spot! 1F, 46-10 Seoulsup 2-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. Break time is daily from 15:30 to 17:00, so it's best to book around it.

Terrace and interior: a Greek-island holiday feel in Seongsu

It's been really hot lately so we sat in the cool, air-conditioned indoor area, but the outdoor terrace at Billadeubeulleu Seongsu looked so pretty that we sat there for a bit too! Even in the heat the photos turned out amazing, and I thought, 'This place is seriously pretty, I have to come back and sit on the terrace once the weather cools down!' 💙

It's also a pet-friendly restaurant, so some guests had brought their adorable dogs along — it looked like a perfect spot to make memories together.

Overall it has strong European vibes with a refreshing blue-and-white feel, like you've landed on a Greek Mediterranean resort. It opened last year so the interior is super clean and stylish. The inside was so pretty that my friend and I wandered around for a while trying to decide where to sit lol.

Is there a wait at 2pm on a weekday?

We arrived a bit past lunchtime on a weekday, around 2pm, and luckily there was no wait at all — it felt like we'd rented out the whole place! Given the vibe and the food, I have a feeling long waits are coming soon 🔥

Shell-shaped QR ordering and how to use the 10% discount coupon

Inside Billadeubeulleu Seongsu there are stylish round tables as well as a separate group seating area in the back — great for gatherings or a Seoul Forest date.

Each table has a cute little shell-shaped object on it, which turns out to be a QR code you scan to check the menu and order smartly 🐚 Everything on the menu looked delicious once I browsed it, so I had a hard time deciding what to order haha.

Everything looked delicious ㅠㅠ Billadeubeulleu, famous as a Seongsu restaurant, is also known for its Seoul Forest steak!! And they can accommodate group dinners too >_<!!

Polpo mambo and gorgonzola truffle cream gnocchi, side by side

What we ordered was the Mediterranean-style octopus dish pollo mambo and the gorgonzola truffle cream gnocchi! >_< It's such a shame that video can't capture the taste either ㅠㅠ The visuals are insane but the taste is even more so... it just melts away in your mouth! I wanted to steal the recipe haha. It's a semi-open kitchen so you could watch them prepping ingredients, and they cleaned everything so thoroughly it really built trust haha.

Polpo mambo, 25,000 won: how is the octopus?

Pollo mambo is a tender Mediterranean-style octopus dish served with romesco sauce, potatoes, and peas! I love octopus dishes normally so I had to order it, and wow... this is seriously insane 🥹 It looks crispy on the outside but melts away the instant it hits your mouth as if by magic! I usually don't like fries that much, but pairing the crispy-yet-soft octopus with romesco sauce and peas made me nod and think, 'Ah, this is why this combination exists!' My friend loved it too and scraped up every last bit of the sauce haha.

Gorgonzola truffle cream gnocchi, 21,000 won

The gorgonzola truffle cream gnocchi is a cream pasta built on a gorgonzola cream sauce base, with a subtle, luxurious truffle aroma throughout. The chewy yet soft gnocchi texture combined beautifully with the deep cream flavor, and it paired perfectly with the octopus pollo mambo.

Free handmade ice cream from the Naver review event

The dessert ice cream we got after writing a review completely won my friend over! There's crunchy cookie crumble underneath and a sweet special sauce drizzled on top, so the nutty and sweet flavors just explode ㅠㅠ Even the final dessert was perfect, so if you're looking for a great Seoul Forest brunch spot, you'll definitely be satisfied here.
