9pm black pork belly BBQ in Nohyeong-dong, Jeju: Boncham Sutbul Galbi
In short
Jeju Boncham Sutbul Galbi is a black pork charcoal barbecue restaurant in Nohyeong-dong, Jeju City, about 10 minutes by car from Jeju Airport. On the first evening of a Jeju trip, at 9pm on a weekday, two servings of heugogyeopsal (black pork belly, 44,000 won) plus one extra serving and mul naengmyeon (cold noodle soup, 8,000 won) arrived with melljeot (salted anchovy dipping sauce), which comes only with a pork belly order, and a copper grill set over direct charcoal. Jeju Boncham Sutbul Galbi stays relaxed even late at night and offers 2 hours free at the nearby Widers parking lot, making it a good pick for the first or last day of a Jeju trip.

How long does it take from Jeju Airport?
Jeju Boncham Sutbul Galbi, a Nohyeong-dong favorite, is about a 10-minute drive from Jeju Airport. It seems perfect for the first or last day of your trip haha. We went straight for black pork the moment we arrived in Jeju — let's go!

What Jeju Boncham Sutbul Galbi is like at 9pm on a weekday
A spacious, comfortable interior ✨✨ It feels more like a local favorite than a tourist spot haha. We came around 9pm on a weekday — even at that late hour, we could eat comfortably!

Jeju Boncham Sutbul Galbi menu and prices
Here's the menu at Jeju Boncham Sutbul Galbi. The signature dishes are seasoned pork ribs, raw ribs, and black pork belly, and for meals there's cold noodle soup and seafood doenjang stew. We started off with two servings of black pork belly! And of course, Hallasan soju — you can't skip that in Jeju.

Where do you park in Nohyeong-dong?
There's also 2 hours of free parking at the nearby Widers parking lot. Parking is always a bit of a headache while traveling, so it was great to visit without worrying about it! 👍

What side dishes come with the pork
Salad, onion, pickled perilla leaves, dongchimi (radish water kimchi), fresh kimchi, aged kimchi — the side dishes came out neat like a full Korean table setting, which took the edge off our hunger!! ☺️

Crunchy bean sprout and scallion salad plus fluffy steamed egg on top of the basics!

Direct charcoal fire and a copper grill
Here comes the charcoal ~ 🔥 They light it fresh and bring it to the table for every new guest, which I loved! The heat was so strong the meat cooked in no time haha.

Black pork belly, 2 servings (44,0) — Jeju-raised black pork, it'd been a while ^___^ Since it's pork belly, the skin is still attached, and that part is wonderfully chewy — a real delicacy!
Jeju Boncham Sutbul Galbi, a favorite in Nohyeong-dong, uses direct charcoal grilling to really bring out the meat's flavor, and apparently the copper grill holds in the juices longer, so you can taste the meat's natural flavor properly. 😁

Melljeot comes only with a pork belly order
Melljeot (anchovy sauce) is only served if you order the pork belly. Chop up some garlic and chili peppers into it, add a splash of soju, and simmer it — that makes it even better, you know!?

The fat-to-meat ratio on the pork belly was perfect — not greasy at all, just nutty and delicious!? 💖 The skin side especially had a chewy texture that was the best part.

Dipping it generously in the salty melljeot and wrapping it up haha. With so many side dishes, you could mix and match in so many ways — I loved that about Jeju Boncham Sutbul Galbi in Nohyeong-dong! ✨

Adding a third serving of black pork belly
We debated trying a different cut but ended up ordering one more serving of black pork belly haha. This round had a bit more of the fat layer, making it even nuttier and more delicious... ! 💛💛
Black pork belly just keeps tasting good no matter how much you eat .. 🐷

Is the mul naengmyeon worth ordering too?
Mul naengmyeon (8,0) — we ordered the cool cold noodle soup for dessert and as a side to drinks. I thought it might be a bit pricey, but the portion was really generous, and it was as good as at a dedicated naengmyeon restaurant haha. I recommend it — you'll keep reaching for it! 👍

The last bite: pork belly dipped generously in melljeot with a bit of mul naengmyeon >___< A solid feast on the very first day of our Jeju trip 🐷 If you're looking for a black pork restaurant near Jeju Airport, I recommend Jeju Boncham Sutbul Galbi, a favorite in Nohyeong-dong. 👍
