Osan Chinese restaurant with 300°C stone-plate jjajang: Dami Sik

In short

Dami Sik is a fusion Korean-Chinese restaurant on Sumogwon-ro 49beon-gil in Osan, Gyeonggi. The set ordered here was stone jjajang (black bean noodles) served on a 300-degree hot stone plate with beef brisket jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), and it came with two bowls of rice, so the meal stretched to jjajang rice as well, plus unlimited fried eggs cooked at the table. Dami Sik suits diners who want something different from the usual jjajang and jjamppong.

First shot upon arriving at Dami Sik in Osan

I was craving Chinese food after a while, so I looked up good Chinese restaurants and ended up at Dami Sik, which has an owner-chef with 20 years of experience. Turns out it's a fusion place that combines Korean and Chinese cooking, so the taste of the jjajang (black bean noodles) and jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) was a bit different from what I usually get at Chinese restaurants.

The dish that caught my eye the most was the stone jjajang served on a 300-degree hot stone plate — visually, I couldn't not order it. Honestly, jjajangmyeon is such a familiar food that I didn't expect much, but this was different from the usual and exceeded my expectations.

Dami Sik's stone jjajang and beef brisket jjamppong set: two rice bowls, and jjajang rice too

I wanted both jjajang and jjamppong, so I ordered Dami Sik's stone jjajang and jjamppong set. The stone jjajang stayed hot for a long time on the sizzling stone plate, which was great for eating it warm.

Regular jjajang tends to dry out and clump up, which really hurts the satisfaction — but this stone jjajang came out still sizzling and cooking, so it looked delicious just from the sight of it.

The sauce was also very generous, and since rice was included in the set, I mixed it in right away. If you mix the rice in as soon as the stone jjajang arrives, the hot stone plate lightly fries the rice too, making it taste even better. Since two bowls of rice came with the set, I basically got three dishes out of it — jjajang, jjamppong, and jjajang rice or jjamppong rice.

Unlimited fried eggs at the table

On top of that, you can fry as many eggs as you want, so you have to add this in too.

It's delicious on top of the jjajang or jjajang rice.

How spicy is the beef brisket jjamppong?

The jjamppong in Dami Sik's set menu is made with beef brisket (u-samgyeop), so the broth was deep and filling. Jjamppong broth is a must alongside jjajang, and this hit the spot perfectly.

It was packed with ingredients — beef brisket, mussels, squid, onion, zucchini, bok choy, and more — giving it a spicy, refreshing flavor.

With so many toppings, the texture was really varied, and the combination of seafood and meat left me super full.

Eating it alongside the stone jjajang balanced things out really well.

Parking at Dami Sik

Dami Sik has parking space right next to the restaurant. About 7-8 cars can park there for free.

If you're driving, you don't need to circle around looking for parking, so it's a comfortable place to visit without parking worries. That said, the parking area isn't huge, so during peak hours it might fill up completely. During lunch hours, you can park in front of the store, and there's said to be an enforcement grace period, so if you're driving, it's best to check with the restaurant before your visit.

In particular, they say over 80% of the menu — sauces, seasonings, broth bases, and more — is made in-house in the kitchen. The signature menu was also quite varied.

Besides the stone jjajang I had, there were plenty of other dishes for meals or drinking snacks — pollack innards hot pot, pollack soup, oyster jjamppong, dongpo pork, and more. It seems like a good spot to visit with a group and order a variety of dishes to share.

Is Dami Sik worth a visit in Osan?

The table at Dami Sik after finishing the meal

Since Dami Sik is a fusion restaurant, I'd recommend it more to people who want something different rather than those looking for the familiar jjajang and jjamppong flavors they're used to. It keeps the food warm for a long time and the portions are generous and filling — that's the advantage.

There's a parking lot, but it might not be easy to find a spot during peak hours. Good to know before you go.
