Busanjin café for a lavender tea coffee latte: Ibaba Coffee

It’s tucked into an alley near Jeonpo Station. It isn’t overly bustling and has such a calm feel, making it just right for enjoying a relaxed coffee break alone or chatting away with someone lovely ☕

Ibaba Coffee exterior and the meaning behind its name

The clean exterior says Ibaba Coffee, and the standing sign has eyes, haha. “Ibaba” is a Gyeongsang-do dialect expression used when you say, “Look at this!” That’s how they came up with the concept, apparently.

And there was Nunettine at the entrance—well, it certainly caught my eye… ah, haha, that’s funny.

The menu, coffee, and gelato

Here’s the café menu. They had Ibaba Coffee’s own coffee drinks, hand-drip coffee, and gelato too.

Black-steel interior and seating

Completely unlike a warm wood look, the interior was cleanly styled in black steel tones. The seats weren’t crammed together either; they were arranged neatly, giving the space a chic yet calm feel.

We sat at the bar table, and eating while looking at the little objects set in sand in front of us somehow made it feel like we were in an art gallery, hahahaha. They said they were just displayed because they looked pretty, with no particular meaning. Kind of like Doraemon’s Anywhere Door? Haha.

By the window, there are seats where you can have a coffee while people-watching in the alley, with everything from tables for two or three to bar seats available.

Thanks to the clean look unique to monochrome tones, every spot made for such atmospheric photos!

Ibaba Latte

As you’d expect from a signature drink named after the café, it was nutty with a distinctive aroma and really delicious, haha. They make it by combining house-extracted lavender tea and coffee. It was wonderfully fragrant and tasty. I had some of the cream first, then mixed it in and drank it. This is a coffee I think I’ll want again later ♥️🫰

Mango ade

It was refreshing, haha. You need to mix in the mango preserve well, and it was perfect as a palate cleanser.

Nunettine

It’s the nostalgic Nunettine pastry, but seeing it as a café dessert made it feel new again! The outside was crisp, with the sweet top coating still nicely intact, while inside had that flaky, crumbly layered pastry texture. It was an absolutely perfect match for the nutty Ibaba Latte.

Despite its friendly name, it’s a chic, stylish space. We chose a great combination from the signature Ibaba Latte to drinks and dessert, then happily finished every last bit! If you’re passing through the Jeonpo-dong alleys and craving a delicious latte, I definitely recommend stopping by once ☕️🥭✨
