Busan Korean BBQ with ₩1,900 draft beer: Gilchon Sutbul Galbi
In short
Gilchon Sutbul Galbi Seomyeon Main Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Busanjin, Busan, where bone-in pork ribs are grilled over charcoal. On a return visit, I had a 500g platter of marinated pork ribs, half-and-half naengmyeon, and 1,900 won draft beer. Verdict: a satisfying value-for-money charcoal-grilled rib dinner.

While watching Tzuyang happily devour ribs in a mukbang video, I just couldn't take it anymore—I was craving pork ribs like crazy! I wondered where to go, then immediately thought of Gilchon Sutbul Galbi Seomyeon Main Branch (길촌숯불갈비 서면본점), which had been perfect in value, flavor, and atmosphere when I visited before, so I went back for the first time in ages. The high-quality bone-in pork belly ribs were still amazing, along with insanely good-value drinks and sides!
A pork rib specialist near Seomyeon Station

This spot I revisited is just a two-minute walk from Seomyeon Station and around nine minutes on foot from Jeonpo Station, so it is very easy to get to. Right in central Seomyeon, it is a great Busan restaurant to choose for meeting friends, a date, or a group get-together.

When you think of a value-for-money barbecue place, you tend to picture somewhere a bit noisy and shabby, but this place is neat and clean from the exterior onward, so it makes a great first impression!! It uses only 100% bone-in pork belly cuts and prepares fresh ribs every day, making it a trusted local favorite.
A comfortable interior without smoke worries

Step inside and, unlike a typical barbecue restaurant, there is none of that smoky, greasy feeling—the interior is stylish and pleasant. The soft lighting and wood-toned décor even make it feel like an upscale restaurant. The tables are generously spaced too, so I was comfortable throughout the meal.

There are also group tables and private rooms further inside, so I really want to recommend it to anyone looking for a Seomyeon venue for a work dinner or family gathering!

I also liked that the country-of-origin information was clearly and transparently displayed near the entrance :)

The restroom even has mouthwash and floss ready for a clean finish!!
Bone-in pork belly ribs and value-priced menu items

The signature point here is that they use only 100% bone-in pork belly, hand-scoring and butterflying it in the restaurant every day! Their fresh pork ribs maximize the meat's savory flavor and satisfying chew, while the marinated ribs get a deep sweet-savory umami flavor from their secret seed soy sauce. There is also a varied lineup of great-value sides that are indispensable when grilling meat!

Best of all, there is ₩1,900 draft beer (300ml)—a price that makes you rub your eyes these days—making it perfect for cooling off with something light and refreshing alongside the meat 🍺

At ₩5,900 per 100g, it is seriously great value—and there is no table-setting fee either ㅠ.ㅠ

Plus, writing a Naver review gets you a ₩2,900 steamed egg for free.
Trying the marinated pork rib platter

The complimentary side dishes arrive neatly arranged: tangy seasoned scallions, crisp pickled onions, ssam vegetables for wraps, baekkimchi (white kimchi), myeonginamul (pickled garlic leaves), pickled chilies, potato salad, and steamed egg—all perfect with the meat 🥗 With delicious banchan (side dishes) and such a tidy atmosphere, this is a Seomyeon pork rib spot where you can start your meal feeling properly looked after!

The two of us ordered the signature marinated pork rib platter (500g / ₩29,500), half-and-half naengmyeon (₩6,900) for the meal, and ₩1,900 draft beer! Getting 500g in the ₩20,000 range is excellent value, and the quality of the meat made it an especially pleasing meal.

Once the meat hit the charcoal grill, a gentle charcoal aroma clung to it and filled the air with a savory smell. The marinade was not overly sweet or harsh; its sweet-and-salty balance meant I never got tired of it and just kept eating.

Thanks to the moist, springy texture distinctive to bone-in pork belly, each chew bursts with juices ㅠ.ㅠ

Put a piece of rib right on a spoonful of white rice and chomp! Even an appetite you did not have suddenly comes right back, haha.

Wrapping the nicely browned ribs in the baekkimchi or myeonginamul that came as banchan is pure freshness, and they are incredible wrapped with seasoned scallions and lettuce too. Taking a sip of the cool ₩1,900 draft beer in between naturally brings out a satisfying “ahh” 🍺

The half-and-half naengmyeon arrived as we were finishing the meat, with the bowl split in two for mul naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles in broth) and bibim naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles) at once. The cool, umami-rich broth and the spicy seasoning of the bibim naengmyeon were so good with a piece of rib on top. Eating this way as a pair left us perfectly and happily full, and it made me so glad I had returned to Gilchon Sutbul Galbi for this lovely dinner!

I came here as if spellbound after watching that mukbang, and it was a day that fully lived up to my expectations 😊 From the quality of the fresh, hand-butterflied bone-in pork belly ribs to the ₩1,900 draft beer and inventive half-and-half naengmyeon, this Seomyeon pork rib specialist does not miss a thing!
