Bucheon octopus restaurant, bossam and steamed egg sides: Yajju Yajju
In short
Yajju Yajju Maekom Jjukkumi Main Branch is a jjukkumi (spicy stir-fried webfoot octopus) restaurant in an alley near Exit 6 of Chunui Station in Bucheon, Gyeonggi. The order was jjuksam (octopus with pork belly) for two at 30,000 won on spice level 1, plus hanbang bossam (herbal boiled pork) at 9,000 won, Yajju steamed egg at 3,000 won and flying fish roe fried rice at 4,000 won to finish. The sweet-spicy octopus with pork belly and bossam worked so well that Yajju Yajju is now the set choice for jjukkumi.

I really love a good food adventure, but there just hasn't been a truly delicious spot in Bucheon for one of my favorite dishes — jjukkumi (spicy stir-fried webfoot octopus). So I hadn't had it much lately.

Where is Yajju Yajju Maekom Jjukkumi, and how do you walk there from Chunui Station?
Yajju Yajju Maekom Jjukkumi Main Branch is right there once you come out of Exit 6 of Chunui Station in Bucheon and walk straight down the alley beside the big Daiso sign. Fair warning — I'm about to gush over what might be the best jjukkumi stir-fry of my life.

Keep going straight down that alley and — there it is! Today's destination, Bucheon's jjukkumi hotspot, Yajju Yajju!!

There's no dedicated parking, so like me, I'd recommend walking over or taking public transit 🚶♂️

The exterior proudly displays the shop's tagline as a top-tier jjukkumi specialist. There's a lunch special too, and it also handles takeout and delivery 📷
No time to waste!! Hungry, I knocked and stepped inside!! The round tables that greet you the moment you walk in 👀 have a real hidden-neighborhood-gem vibe.

Yajju Yajju menu: jjuksam, jjudak, jjuwoo or jjubo — which to order?
The menu at Yajju Yajju Maekom Jjukkumi Main Branch is huge — from the basic stir-fry to jjuksam, jjudak, jjuwoo (beef belly), and jjubo (bossam). I grabbed a seat and read the whole thing closely, and wow, so many options!

Out of all of them, my pick ✔️ the one that won me over was the jjukkumi with pork belly. That's the one for today. Ordered jjuksam for two at ₩30,000!!

After ordering the main, something felt like it was missing 🐷 So I generously added side dishes too — hanbang bossam and egg stew, to fill things out properly. Hanbang bossam ₩9,000, Yajju egg stew ₩3,000.

What banchan side dishes come with the meal?
After ordering, the owner quickly set out the basic side dishes!! The jjukkumi's best friends.
Flying fish roe, mayo sauce, perilla leaves, seaweed, pickled radish, corn, cold broth — while all this generous spread was being set up, I kept hearing the delivery app notification going off nonstop.

Jjuksam for two at spice level 1: how hot is it really?
The Yajju Yajju jjuksam comes out fully cooked from the kitchen, and I ordered it at spice level 1, which suited my spice-wimp palate perfectly. I was told it's spicier than Shin Ramyun, so I got scared and picked the lowest level — and it paid off.

Everything comes out already cooked, which was a win right off the bat 😍 Second win: just look at that portion, it's huge. Plump, chubby octopus, and plenty of it.
Mixed with the bean sprout garnish, I took a bite right away — let's see, let's try it — and whoa, this flavor...

The spicy-sweet octopus filling the mouth, paired with the pork belly in an insane combo — you really can't know until you try it.

Spice-wimp me chickened out and ordered level 1 — spicier than Shin Ramyun — but it turned out to be exactly right 🤤

Delicious and spicy just eating it plain! Even better wrapped in a lettuce leaf! This is why people order so much takeout and delivery. Now I finally understand 🐷 confirmed hotspot.

Hanbang bossam 9,000 won and steamed egg 3,000 won: the best side combo
The hanbang bossam side I ordered for ₩9,000 is soft and pairs well with the jjukkumi, and the egg stew for ₩3,000 is the essential partner for spicy food. When the main is this good, the sides couldn't possibly be bad.
Eating the hanbang bossam together with the jjukkumi, you understand exactly why the jjubo (bossam) menu item exists — the harmony of jjukkumi and bossam is real 👍🏻

Egg stew is a must-have side no matter what you're eating!! Especially with spicy food, it's non-negotiable!! Salty, soft egg stew for the win.

Finishing with flying fish roe fried rice, 4,000 won
The finale at Yajju Yajju Maekom Jjukkumi Main Branch is the flying fish roe fried rice for ₩4,000. After raving nonstop through the whole meal, the true Korean finish is rice power 🍚 — I ordered the fried rice too and happily packed it in, a satisfied pig by the end.

Bucheon Yajju Yajju's flying fish roe fried rice, ₩4,000

(Confession) Honestly, before the fried rice I'd already cleared a whole bowl of plain rice — shh 🤫 wasn't going to mention it, but... 🍚
Once again I finished everything perfectly, scraping the plates clean!! Thank you for the meal!!
I hereby declare that from now on, jjukkumi means Yajju Yajju and only Yajju Yajju ✋️ Oath officially taken 👋

I'll come back often and order delivery often too. Looking forward to it. Bookmarking Yajju Yajju Maekom Jjukkumi Main Branch, my new favorite spot in Chunui-dong, Bucheon.
