Couple's hair day at a Dongtan hair salon: chocolate brown dye and

Chuseok is coming up soon. It feels like we just exchanged New Year's greetings — time really flies! Before heading to see family for Chuseok, I decided to get a dye job done and get my husband's hair cut too, but where should we go... As a salon nomad, I went back into search mode again haha🤣

I'd botched a fringe cut before and had been growing it out since, so this time I really wanted somewhere skilled and trustworthy, even if it was a bit far from home!! So here's the story of the place I picked after being super picky — Juno Hair Dongtan SRT Station Branch near Dongtan Station 🤗

Where is Juno Hair Dongtan SRT Station Branch, and what are the parking and hours?

Juno Hair Dongtan SRT Station Branch is in Building B of Lotte Front Castle near Dongtan Station, open daily from 10:00 to 21:00. There's parking inside the building, plus a kids' playroom and pets are welcome.

➡️ The building entrance for parking can be a little confusing. Put it in your navigation and follow the <pink guide line> at the residential entrance. Go in until you see the shopping-mall-only barrier (pink line) and park there 🙂

Inside the entrance: hand wash station and a step stool for kids

Here's what the entrance looks like. The salon opened during Covid, so the owner set up a hand-washing station before you go in. Isn't the interior gorgeous right from the entrance? There's hand wash and hand cream ready, and even a step stool for kids!! So thoughtful 😍

They also post the price list at the entrance so you can see prices in advance and visit without worry. They said prices won't go above what's shown here.

Juno Hair's White Zone kids' room and Brown Zone interior

This is the salon as you step inside — this is the White Zone. They said the interior was inspired by a Greek mythology temple, and it really does look luxurious. It's as comfortable as a café, complete with a kids' room! The kids' room is small but clean and cozy. I think it's the first time I've seen a salon with a kids' room — great for bringing kids along 😄

The structure in the middle of the salon looked familiar, and then I realized I'd seen it on Seo In-young's YouTube channel not long ago!! Jewelry designer-turned-hair-designer Lee Ji-hyun appeared on it, and it turns out she works at a different Juno Hair branch! What a coincidence 😆

And this area is called the Brown Zone. The overall tone is brown/wood, giving it a totally different vibe 😄

The cozy shampoo rooms come in single and double options, and further into the Brown Zone there's a bed spa room where you lie back in a massage chair 😄 I heard the owner of Juno Hair Dongtan SRT Station Branch was the first to introduce this system! I'll write about the bed spa experience below!

Chocolate brown full dye: consultation and process

Now for the treatment consultation~ I was styled by designer Chaea. She asked in detail about what style I wanted and what treatment to do first. She was so kind and picked up on what I wanted right away even without me explaining much! Such great instincts 👍 Since I'm a warm tone, we decided on chocolate brown, and since it's getting chillier, we went a bit darker than my current color instead of something too bright.

She even brought out a color chart to show me during the consultation 😄

They also brought me a drink~

Treatment starts~ First she applied scalp protectant at the roots, then the dye — her hands moved so fast, everything went by quickly! Her touch was so skilled, it gave me total confidence 💕 haha

What are the water punch shampoo and bed spa like?

Juno Hair also has something special for the shampoo — the 'water punch!!' It's a process that removes buildup, and it felt really refreshing.

To finish, I also got the bed spa treatment — lying in a massage chair in a private room for the clinic treatment was truly satisfying! With my body all relaxed, the full-body massage bed felt amazing 👍 all my fatigue melted away haha. For women, going to the salon is always exciting and feels like a healing space! I really felt like I came back healed ~😘

Layered cut finish and how the hair felt afterwards

Finally, finished off with a layered cut! Even during the cut, she asked about the length and texture I wanted and cut exactly the style I had in mind. Her hands were quick and her skills were genuinely excellent. She also clearly knew the trends, so the result felt fresh, not outdated, and exactly to my taste. She even showed me a simple styling method!

She really took care of my hair's condition too — even days after the full dye, my hair actually feels better than before the treatment! I was so satisfied!!

Men's short drop cut and down perm: before and after

My husband, who came along, also got a short drop cut and down perm. Here's what he looked like before the treatment.

His hair in the back had really gotten long 😆 He was also styled by designer Chaea.

She started with the cut. Even before the down perm, doesn't he already look so much neater? She was quick with men's cuts too. What's amazing about designer Chaea is that she picks up exactly what you want after just a few words during consultation!!!!

Here's the finished look! So much cleaner, right? My husband likes his hair short, so we went short!! First off, her cutting skills were excellent, and she was so thoughtful that when I mentioned he doesn't style his hair much, she also added a perm to his fringe so it falls into place just by drying it. We've been to barbershops and various salons before, but this was the first time we found a place that even perms the fringe!

Isn't his hair so nice? haha We're regulars now for sure!

After the treatment, they even sent us home with product samples suited to our hair and scalp — so touched ❤️ Both my husband and I were so happy with the hair and the service that we're planning to bring our daughters in soon for perms too! Highly recommend this to fellow salon nomads in Dongtan ~😄
