Dongtan hair salon layered cut and tone-down dye for wavy long hair

I've got some natural wave and thick hair, so my long hair needs regular upkeep..! Lately my whole head felt frizzy and the dye color looked kind of messy and grown-out, so I went looking for a salon to get both a dye and a cut, and ended up at Juno Hair Dongtan SRT Station Branch near Dongtan Station. A more elegant, one-tone-down color exactly how I wanted, a layered cut, and hair care with a clinic treatment on top — plus a kind, thorough designer I really liked. Juno Hair Dongtan SRT Station Branch is right in front of Dongtan Station, in units 201-206, Building B of the Lotte Front Castle commercial complex. It's open daily 10:00-21:00, closed every Monday and Tuesday. Reservations, late-night appointments and easy pay are all available.

Juno Hair is a long-running, large premium hair salon brand in Korea with about 180 branches nationwide — the Dongtan SRT branch opened in 2021, and it's a pretty salon I'd walked past near Dongtan Station many times..!

Parking is free in the building's own lot — after parking, head toward Building B rather than Building A to find it easily. I booked ahead on a weekday and arrived right at my appointment time 👀

Inside the salon: the bar, the kids' play room and the Brown Zone

At the center of Juno Hair Dongtan SRT Station Branch there's a bar where you can sit comfortably while staff bring you drinks. I'd been to other branches before, and this one is full of that same sleek, clean Juno Hair signature look ✨ The space is huge and dressed up with chandeliers, which makes it feel even more upscale.

There's also a separate kids' play room, so children have somewhere to play during a long hair appointment 👍🏻 The shampoo rooms are split into single and double-occupancy versions too, so you can get pampered privately and quietly.

This is the Brown Zone you see once you walk further into the store — a slightly quieter space to have your hair done..!

The Brown Zone also has its own separate shampoo rooms and a premium clinic treatment room. The interior is so spacious it never feels cramped, and the seats are spaced out generously so you don't feel crowded by other customers either — overall a relaxed, one-on-one kind of atmosphere 👌🏻

Consultation with designer Yong: toning down uneven dyed hair by one level

My service was done by designer Yong at Juno Hair Dongtan SRT Station Branch. First she just shampooed my hair, then planned the service based on my exact hair condition.

My hair had previously dyed sections and newly grown-out sections, so the color wasn't even — she checked all of this directly and we decided to tone everything down one shade into a natural overall color..! For the cut, we kept it minimal, just a light trim into the layered style I wanted.

The order of service: layered cut, all-over dye, then the Clinic B course

First came the layered cut, then a generous application of scalp protectant before the all-over dye. Right after the dye, we moved straight into a clinic treatment for my damaged hair. I got the Clinic B course, a reasonably priced ampoule inner-care treatment with protein shampoo, high-concentration moisture ampoule, and 3-step coating care ⭐️

First a protein shampoo, then the high-concentration moisture ampoule was applied thoroughly and carefully all over my hair. For the final steam clinic step, to help the ampoule really soak in, I got to lie back in a massage chair — total healing. I came in for a haircut and ended up de-stressed and relaxed too ><

While I waited during the dye and clinic steps, there were books ready to read and they brought out drinks and snacks too ^^ When my phone battery died, I asked and they even had a portable charger on hand — such a thoughtful touch ❗️

How the hair looked and felt after the dye and Clinic B course

After the all-over dye plus clinic, my hair — which is naturally wavy, quite damaged and thick — definitely felt a lot calmer. You might not notice it much just by looking, but touching it, my hair felt so much more hydrated and soft ^^

The hair products designer Yong gave me as a little extra were so cute! She even walked me to the front door of the salon to see me off — so kind. I headed home happy and light, with much better hair and a much better mood 🫶🏻
