Sushi buffet weekday dinner date in Suwon: Kuu Kuu Gold City Hall

I really love sushi, so hunting down new sushi spots is one of my small joys in life. This time, my wife and I went to Kuu Kuu Gold Suwon City Hall Branch for a nice dinner together after work. 🍣💕

I already liked sushi, but I'd heard the Gold-tier stores have an even wider menu, so I'd wanted to visit for a while. This time we made a reservation for weekday dinner and went straight there after work.

After working all day, I was already looking forward to healing with good food and my wife by my side. 😆

I was especially excited because Kuu Kuu Gold Suwon City Hall Branch offers free beer on weekday dinners and weekends. 🍺 Unfortunately, since we drove this time, we couldn't have any beer. Next time I'll take public transport so I can enjoy beer alongside the sushi. 😋🍺

So here's our weekday dinner review of Kuu Kuu Gold Suwon City Hall Branch, visited with my wife!

🚗 Is parking easy? Plenty of spacious parking

We drove this time, and one thing I personally liked was how spacious the parking lot was. 👍 Food matters when you're heading to a restaurant or buffet, but if parking is a hassle, you're stressed out before you even sit down.

Kuu Kuu Gold Suwon City Hall Branch has fairly generous parking, so it wasn't a burden to come by car. 🚗 Parking really matters when you're visiting with family or a group, so I thought this would be convenient for that. If you're visiting by car after work like us, this is worth knowing.

🪑 The waiting area is comfortable, and there's even a photo booth!

Popular restaurants and buffets inevitably get a wait when it's busy.

The waiting area at Kuu Kuu Gold Suwon City Hall Branch was set up to be fairly comfortable, so I thought waiting there would be less of a hassle. 😊 And something quietly fun — there's a photo booth! 📸

Usually when the wait gets long you just sit around bored, but here you can pass the time taking photo booth pictures, which was fun.

If you're visiting as a couple, taking a photo together while you wait is a nice touch. 💕 Next time we have a wait, I think we'll snap a picture instead of just sitting there. 😆

🍣 Finally seated! First stop, the sushi zone

As soon as we got a table, the first place we headed was, of course, the sushi zone. 😂🍣

The Kuu Kuu sushi zone had a wide variety — sushi, rolls, gunkan (battleship rolls) and more. Between salmon and shrimp sushi and various other kinds of raw fish sushi, rolls, and gunkan, we spent a while deciding what to eat first.

Since I love sushi, I didn't go overboard at first and picked a little of many kinds. The rice portions weren't too much, which made it easy to sample a variety, and the fish felt fresh.

It was also fun picking out dishes we each wanted to try and sharing them with each other. 🥰 Coming to a buffet as a couple really does let you try more variety than going alone.

🥩🦐 The charm of Kuu Kuu Gold! The meat & seafood grill

After trying some sushi, we moved to the meat and seafood grill zone. This was one of the spaces I'd been looking forward to at a Kuu Kuu Gold branch — a zone where you pick your own meat and seafood and grill it yourself, which felt like a different kind of fun compared to a regular buffet. 🔥

Picking out meat, shrimp, and other seafood and grilling it warm ourselves added a hands-on fun to the taste.

Eating sushi nonstop can get a bit repetitive, but mixing in grilled meat and seafood made the meal much more satisfying. Getting sushi, meat, and seafood all in one place really is the charm of Kuu Kuu Gold. 💛

🔥 The barbecue zone & 🍜 noodle zone had plenty too

Besides the grill zone, we also checked out the barbecue zone and the noodle zone. The barbecue zone had various meat dishes and warm items, and the noodle zone had udon and other noodle dishes. 🍜

I liked that the menu was varied enough that even someone who doesn't eat much sushi or raw fish could still eat plenty.

My wife also enjoyed picking out other dishes besides sushi. 😊

🍤🍕 Plenty of cooked dishes too!

Turns out Kuu Kuu isn't just about sushi. There were fried dishes, stir-fries, pizza, chicken and more, so we could try other food along the way.

When a group visits together, everyone might want something different — with this much variety, it seemed easy to find something to suit any taste. That makes it a solid option for a family meal or a work dinner in Injedong, Suwon. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

The food also seemed to turn over quickly, since I hardly ever saw empty trays. 👍

🍺 Free beer on weekday dinners & weekends!

Another thing we learned during our visit to Kuu Kuu Gold Suwon City Hall Branch — beer is free on weekday dinners and weekends! 🍺✨

Since we drove this time, we unfortunately couldn't drink any beer. 🚗 But I think beer would pair really well with the sushi, meat, and seafood, so next time I'm definitely taking public transport. Ending a workday with good food and a cold beer alongside my wife sounds like it would wash away all the fatigue. 😆🍻

Next visit, we're definitely getting the beer in too!

🍰🍓 A satisfying dessert spread too!

Even with a full stomach, dessert is non-negotiable. 😂 Last stop, the bakery, fruit, and dessert zone.

There was a good variety of dessert after the meal, so we finished strong all the way to the end. We cleansed our palates with fruit, then tried a bit of cake and ice cream too.

It's always amazing how there's still room for something sweet even when you're full. 😂 We wrapped up dinner with a cold drink and felt a satisfying kind of full.

Visiting with my wife after work, this was an overall satisfying dinner. 🥰 What I liked most was being able to enjoy a wide range of food, not just sushi, all in one place.

Above all, it was great for a couple like us to visit for dinner after work. This time we drove and couldn't have beer, which was a little disappointing, but next time we'll take public transport so we can enjoy good food with beer too. 🍣🍺
