Sushi buffet lunch with nursing room and kids' play area: Suwon

I'd seen people on social media saying Kuu Kuu Gold is on a totally different level, and I really wanted to try it, but there wasn't one nearby so I never got the chance. Then I heard a Kuu Kuu Gold opened in Ingye-dong, so off I went.

We went for weekday lunch and honestly, pure satisfaction. Out of every place I've been, this had the widest variety, and the food kept getting refilled right before it ran out! I especially loved how small the rice portions were on the sushi. Thanks to that clever touch, I got to try tons of other food too, haha. Plus there's a nursing room and a kids' play area — this place is basically perfect. Here's my review of Kuu Kuu Gold Suwon City Hall Branch!

How to order and the store atmosphere

When you enter, just tell staff your party size and they'll seat you. They open at 11, and we came in at noon — even on a weekday there were tons of customers. We were seated at the far left table, and it turned out great since it was close to the play area and nursing room! If you're visiting with kids or a baby, it's worth asking to be seated near those facilities :)

Kuu Kuu Gold Suwon City Hall Branch seems to have put real thought into the lighting — the whole space felt bright, haha. Being a buffet, the atmosphere is lively and everyone's hands and feet are busy. Still, the tables aren't packed too tightly together, so sound from other tables doesn't bleed over.

Staff are quick to spot dishes running low and ask the chefs to refill before anything actually runs out. So there was never a moment where something we wanted was gone. With so many customers, the food turnover was fast too, which meant everything stayed moist and warm, haha. Staff also clear the empty plates piling up on your table — but they don't come by that often, so just stack them in a corner in the meantime!

Kuu Kuu Gold Suwon City Hall Branch has several private rooms. Perfect for private group gatherings or banquets! You just need to book ahead by phone. The side doors can open up to combine rooms, so check with them about capacity :)

How's the nursing room?

The nursing room is at the far left end of the store. It has a diaper-changing table, a microwave for baby food, and a nursing chair. There's even a light above the changing table, and the nursing chair was so cozy. This place is genuinely great for going with a baby! The AC was running nice and cool too, so it was a comfortable place to use.

Kids' play area

In front of the play area there's a sign with the rules and a height chart — worth a quick read before letting kids in. Since the branch just opened recently, the play area was spotlessly clean. There were also arcade games and a claw machine that caught the kids' eyes. Kids make friends fast, and after eating, ours had a blast playing in there, haha.

A look at the weekday lunch menu

Kuu Kuu Gold Suwon City Hall Branch is on the 2nd floor. As soon as we got to our seats, we spotted a sign for Kuu Kuu's new Food Party menu — instant mouthwatering. We sat our second kid in the high chair they'd set up, and we were ready to dig in!

Alcohol zone (soju, beer, wine)

There's a drinks fridge too, but you order through staff. If all the seafood is making you crave soju, just order some, haha. Kuu Kuu Gold Suwon City Hall Branch also has unlimited beer and wine — both red and white were available. I wanted to drink instead of water too, if only I weren't nursing...!

Grill zone

The grill zone is the star of Kuu Kuu Gold — what sets it apart from regular Kuu Kuu locations! Pork belly, pork belly yakiniku, pork neck, pork neck yakiniku, yakiniku cuttlefish, seasoned cuttlefish, chicken feet, pork skin, shrimp, scallops, chicken neck meat, and more! There's also garnish sauce for wrapping in lettuce as you grill. Freshwater eel seems to only appear on weekends, haha. At weekday lunch, pineapple was on offer instead.

Sushi and rolls

Kuu Kuu means seafood. The sushi line is incredibly long! There's so much good stuff your eyes don't know where to look. My favorites were the raw salmon and flounder, haha.

There were also tons of gunkan (battleship roll) varieties, but with so many customers around I couldn't get them all — I saw conch, shrimp, octopus, smoked salmon, tuna belly with crab roe, soy-marinated shrimp, seasoned shrimp, and jellyfish mul-hoe (cold soup). I love soy-marinated salmon but didn't see any, sadly. There's sesame oil, seaweed, radish sprouts, onion and more, so top it however you like!

Hot food

You can order from the noodle corner too, plus there's soup and stew, and even three kinds of pizza! The pizza disappears fast the moment it comes out.

There's pasta, fried food, fried rice and more — there was even lamb rack... incredible. It was too crowded to capture it all, but there's just so, so, so much to eat. Grilled king prawns with salt and grilled oysters too — Kuu Kuu Gold really is the best!

Dessert

There's filtered water, plus slushies, juice, sikhye (sweet rice punch), milk, soft drinks, coffee, and premium tea!

There's a nice variety of fruit too, and the melon was unbelievably sweet! Cake, donuts, bakery items, pudding and more round out the dessert spread, so save room.

There's self-serve milk bingsu (shaved ice), plus Kuu Kuu's own version of Baskin Robbins... the ice cream is great too! My favorite, Dippin' Dots ice cream pearls, came in four flavors... I loaded up big time.

Staff also make fresh waffles, and next to the chocolate and strawberry fountains there are marshmallows and cookies. Kids' favorite spot, haha.

Honest review of Kuu Kuu Gold Suwon City Hall Branch

There were bburinkle cheese sticks, so my first kid tried them for the first time. "The seasoning powder is so good!" she said, haha. The gunkan and sushi were all fresh and delicious. The soup came out at just the right time, so I grabbed some too.

I love that a buffet lets everyone eat what they each want!! Agreeing on one menu is always such a struggle... so it made me happy to be able to pile up whatever I felt like eating.

Here's what I really loved about Kuu Kuu Gold Suwon City Hall Branch: out of every buffet I've been to, this one has the smallest rice portions. There's so much I wanted to try but I worried about filling up too fast — so I could take just a little, check the rice amount, and go back for more variety, haha.

We finished the meal with espresso poured over ice cream. The time limit is technically 90 minutes. If a waiting line forms, they ask you to wrap up, but on a weekday morning visit, we had plenty of time to eat at a relaxed pace. Since we went with the kids, I was busy tending to my first and second — my own meal took a backseat and I started eating late. I also stepped out to the nursing room and play area in between, so I figured I wouldn't get to eat much, but with no wait, we got to enjoy it fully.

Kuu Kuu Gold Suwon City Hall Branch is a great place to go with kids. My first kid is already saying she wants to go again, haha. And honestly, the meal left me completely satisfied too. Next time we're planning a weekend visit. If you're on the fence, I genuinely recommend this place 💖
