Happy Friday!!! You gotta eat out on a happy Friday. A little gift to myself after a hard week ㅠㅠ I was wondering where to get a good meal and finally made my first visit to Kkamon, which has been getting a ton of buzz lately 😍💖

Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store is a Vietnamese restaurant on Jeongja-illo. Every time I passed by, the exotic exterior really caught my eye, and I always wanted to try it — finally made it happen with a family dinner!!! I genuinely love Vietnamese food, so I'd already bookmarked this real local Vietnamese spot in the middle of the city on Naver Maps and kept wondering when I'd finally go — and I did!

The vintage mint-colored door, yellow sign, and red lighting made me feel like I'd teleported straight into an actual local Vietnamese restaurant in the middle of the city 🥰 Am I in Vietnam right now~? Haha.

My daughter saw the sign and said it felt like we'd flown somewhere on a plane hahaha. The exotic vibe and the interior that really did feel like Vietnam got us all excited before we even ate. (By the way, coming to Kkamon made me really want to go to Vietnam 🥲)

The staff seemed to be actual locals from Vietnam, and they greeted us so kindly that it gave me even more confidence in the place!!! Turns out it's really run by a Vietnamese chef, so it's a genuine pho spot in Jeongja, Bundang where you can taste authentic flavors ㅠㅠ🧡 It seemed like a cozy, great place for nearby office workers or families to stop by for lunch near Jeongja Station.

Order via tablet, and Kkamon is open 24 hours

At Kkamon, you order easily through the tablet installed at your table. Even though the staff are Vietnamese, they seemed to understand most of our Korean. We ordered the signature pho, Kkamon fried rice, and the side dish everyone raves about — cream lemon shrimp. >_<

Looking around the wall, I saw a sign saying they also sell banh mi (Vietnamese baguette sandwich) and that takeout is available, which made me think it'd be great to grab one for a picnic sometime. I actually thought about getting one to go as a late-night snack after eating, but I was fuller than expected, so I saved the banh mi takeout for next time... This pho spot in Jeongja, Bundang is open 24 hours so you can drop by anytime, meaning it's great for whenever you're craving Vietnamese food late at night or early in the morning!!!!

After a short wait, our order arrived, filling the table generously.

So what does Kkamon's pho broth taste like?

I've been to quite a few pho specialty spots around Bundang, but places with this kind of clean yet deep umami are rare. My husband, after tasting the rich broth, said this was hands-down the number one pho place near Jeongja Station hahahaha. If anyone asks me where to get good pho in Bundang, I'm recommending Kkamon without hesitation!!!

If you're with kids, try the Kkamon fried rice — it's not spicy

The Kkamon fried rice came with fluffy stir-fried rice topped generously with a soft fried egg and seasoned meat. Taking a bite of rice with a little meat on top, my whole mouth filled with a deep smoky char flavor. I was actually a bit worried since it's the kind of fried rice with that smoky wok flavor, but—

My picky daughter ate it up so well that I couldn't have been prouder. It's not spicy at all, so kids will really enjoy it! If you're coming to Kkamon for lunch near Jeongja Station with children, this fried rice is a must-order.

Plump shrimp fried to a crisp are topped generously with a tangy, sweet, and savory lemon cream sauce. The moment you bite in, the crispy outside and the juicy, springy inside just explode ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ It's really, truly delicious!!!!!!

It was the perfect pairing alongside the pho and fried rice. I kept gasping in delight the whole time at this pho spot in Jeongja, Bundang ㅠㅠ❤️🔥

Would I go back to Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store?

Even on our first visit, it completely won over everyone in the family's taste buds, and now I'm fully planning to become a regular! Next time I'm definitely taking home a banh mi sandwich!!!
