Seongsu coffee shop where fig soufflé takes 20 minutes: 5to7 Seongsu
In short
5to7 Seongsu Main Branch is a seasonal fruit soufflé pancake café on Seoulsup 2-gil in Seongdong-gu, Seoul. The writer and a friend ordered the 22,000 won fig soufflé and two iced Dutch coffees, waited 20 minutes for the pancakes, and looked around the second- and third-floor seating while eating. The fig syrup sweetness matched the low-acidity Dutch coffee so well that 5to7 makes an easy dessert stop near Seoul Forest.

Met up with a friend in Seongsu after a while and finally visited "5 to 7 Seongsu Main Branch," famous for its soufflé pancakes! Both the coffee and the soufflé cake were so good — here's my review of "5 to 7 Seongsu Main Branch"~

5to7 Seongsu Main Branch menu and prices

5 to 7 Seongsu Main Branch rotates its soufflé cakes with the seasons — when I went, fig was in season, so the fig soufflé was on the menu for ₩22,000. There are also mangosteen soufflé, fresh mango soufflé, strawberry soufflé, pearl crème brûlée soufflé, matcha soufflé, tiramisu soufflé, and more, so you can pick according to your taste~
Iced Dutch americano is ₩6,000, café latte is ₩6,500, and the signature 5 to 7 supeoni goes for ₩8,000.
Order on the second floor: which floors have seats?

To order at 5 to 7 Seongsu Main Branch, you go up the stairs beside the building to the 2nd floor. The 2nd floor has the main table where the soufflé cakes and coffee are made, and

around it there's a lot of tastefully designed seating. It's got a cozy, comfortable wood-tone atmosphere. There are two-seaters, window seats, and larger group tables, so you can pick a spot based on your group size!

There's seating not just inside but scattered outside too — on a nice day it'd be really lovely to eat outdoors.

The stairs up to the third floor and the seats there
The café is spread across multiple floors — to get to the 3rd floor, instead of the stairs you first came up, you go outside the café and take the stairs that wrap around the building.

The 3rd floor is bigger. If there's no seating on the 2nd floor, it'd be better to head up here.

There are floor-to-ceiling windows throughout, so natural light pours in and keeps the interior bright, and through the windows you can see the alleys of Seongsu and lush green trees — giving it that nature-friendly café feel.
Fig soufflé with iced Dutch coffee: was the 20-minute wait worth it?

The fig cake arrived looking incredible! We also ordered two glasses of iced Dutch coffee to go with it.

We were told the soufflé pancake is made fresh to order, so we'd need to wait about 20 minutes. After patiently waiting it out, we were rewarded with this gorgeous dessert.
On top of the thick, two-layered soufflé cake was pale whipped cream, and figs were generously piled on top and around it. Apparently it didn't rain much this summer, so the figs turned out really sweet — and true to that, they tasted like they'd been steeped in syrup, so sweet.

The iced Dutch coffee had exactly that acid-free, nutty bean flavor that we, as die-hard iced americano lovers, go crazy for!
Cold coffee paired with a sweet dessert — this really wasn't just a small happiness, it was a BIG happiness.

There was fig syrup drizzled on top of the figs too, which kept the fresh fig flavor intact while maximizing the sweetness.
When you cut into it, the soufflé gives with a soft, pillowy press that makes your mouth water — and taking a bite, that moist yet fluffy texture filled my whole mouth.

Eating the thick, fluffy soufflé together with the not-too-sweet whipped cream, everything blended so well that I couldn't stop bringing forkful after forkful to my mouth.

Eating this soufflé cake while enjoying the lush green view of Seongsu and the cool autumn breeze through the window made me so happy~
If you're looking for a great soufflé cake spot near Seoul Forest, I recommend "5 to 7 Seongsu Main Branch"~!
