Jeju rice cake shop for 20-piece omegi-tteok gifts: Suragan Tteokbang
In short
Suragan Tteokbang is a rice cake shop in Nohyeong-dong, Jeju, with omegi-tteok and many other varieties of tteok. I froze its 20-piece tangerine, soybean-powder, black-sesame, red-bean, and nut set and enjoyed one each morning. Verdict: a handy Jeju gift for sharing with a crowd.

Nohyeong-dong omegi-tteok chosen as a Jeju travel gift
When you think of Jeju travel gifts and souvenirs, omegi-tteok (Jeju rice cake) is one of the first things that comes to mind, right? I visited Suragan Tteokbang (수라간떡방), a great spot for Jeju omegi-tteok 😊 It is in Nohyeong-dong, just below Jeju Airport, so it is in such a good location for stopping by and buying gifts at the end of a trip!
There were seriously so many kinds of Jeju omegi-tteok!! Suragan Tteokbang has everything from classic red bean to soybean powder, black sesame, honey, nuts, barley, and more, so you can choose according to your taste. Rather than picking just one, I wanted to try lots of flavors, so I chose a set with different kinds in it 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Which flavors come in the 20-piece set?

The set I brought home had 20 pieces across five flavors: tangerine, soybean powder, black sesame, red bean, and nuts! I tried one of each as soon as I got home. They were not too sweet or bland, just nicely balanced, and so chewy—I enjoyed every one. Since I have the taste buds of a grandma, haha, the nutty flavors like red bean and black sesame suited me better than the tangerine one!! 🍡🍡🍡🍡🍡🍡🍡🍡🍡🍡🍡
Since several varieties came together, it was fun choosing whichever flavor I felt like eating each day.

Individually wrapped, so they were easy to give as gifts
They pack them like this in a sturdy, neat bag, so I think they would make perfectly good gifts too!! Even on past trips to Jeju, rice cakes were always on my list when buying gifts for friends. They are easy to divide up one by one, and omegi-tteok itself feels so distinctly Jeju, haha.
The individual wrapping is neat too, so there is no need for extra gift wrapping. You could just put them in the office pantry freezer and take one out each morning!! *I froze mine as soon as I received them. In the morning, I would leave one out at room temperature, wash and get ready, then eat one on my way to work—and they were still wonderfully chewy and delicious!
Suragan Tteokbang exterior and parking

It is on a big road and easy to find. I went on a weekday afternoon, so there were not many cars, but it looked like you could park in open spaces, making it seem easy to visit without parking worries.
There were lots of other rice cakes besides omegi-tteok

There are sooo many different rice cakes besides omegi-tteok! Every single one looked delicious ㅜㅜ I love red-bean paste fillings in both bread and rice cakes, but since I already had omegi-tteok, I did not buy anything extra. Still, it looked like a great place to pick up snacks. You can also see the work area just inside, and it looked so clean that I felt even more reassured about buying from here!!
Small gifts and delivery are available too

As shown on the menu, delivery is available and there are five-piece packs, so they seem ideal as a small gift for each person at work. When you have gifts to give to lots of people, being able to prepare them in smaller portions like this is such a plus. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
On the other hand, if you are planning to eat them with family or friends, you can get a set with more pieces. I liked being able to choose according to the occasion. For anyone who finds it difficult to carry them home after a Jeju trip, delivery is available too, which is convenient~ They are also running a Naver review event, so let’s get some extra delicious rice cakes!
