Natural-light Seongsu café underground: two iced coffees at T Coffee

I visited T Coffee's Seongsu branch, a café that's really serious about its coffee. Even though it's underground, it didn't feel stuffy at all, and both the coffee and the desserts were delicious.

Where is T Coffee and how do you get there from Seongsu Station?

T Coffee Seongsu is a 7-minute walk from Exit 2 of Seongsu Station. The address is 159 Achasan-ro, basement level, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, and it's open weekdays from 9am to 8pm and weekends from 11am to 8pm (last order 7pm). The sign at the building entrance lists PIZZA SLICE and T Coffee side by side, both on the basement floor. Just follow the sign and you'll find it without any trouble.

Why T Coffee's basement doesn't feel stuffy: window wall and courtyard

I went looking for a quiet café and figured a basement spot would feel a bit cramped, but not at all! Through the big window you can see plants and natural light pours in, so you barely notice you're underground :)

There's a courtyard-like green space right in front of the window, so wherever you sit, you get a view of greenery.

I saw people spending time alone at the window seats too, so I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a good-vibe café in Seongsu! The little framed pictures on the wall and the logo coasters are clean and simple, so there's something nice to look at in every corner.

At the counter: espresso machine and hand-drip tools

The counter at T Coffee Seongsu has several coffee machines and grinders. There's also hand-drip equipment set up right there, so you can tell right away this is a place serious about coffee.

There are also desserts like cookies and cakes displayed on the counter. And everything is so neatly arranged, it put me in a great mood. Spotless, stainless steel, clean and very much to my liking 👍🏻

Iced americano ₩5,500, iced café latte ₩6,200 and a sand cookie

I ordered an iced americano, an iced café latte, and a sand cookie for dessert. At T Coffee Seongsu, the americano is ₩5,500 and the latte is ₩6,200.

There's a thin layer of crema on top of the cup, and just looking at it, you could tell this was going to be good coffee.

The moment I took a sip, even someone like me who doesn't know much about coffee could tell this place knows what it's doing. Deep, smooth, and nutty. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a Seongsu café with good coffee. The café latte was just as good as the americano. Both the iced americano and the latte were delicious, so you can't go wrong with either. The sand cookie was nice because it wasn't too sweet.

There's cream between crunchy cookie layers, and since the sweetness isn't overpowering, it went perfectly with the coffee. Next time I want to try one of the cakes from the display case too.

T Coffee amenities and Chuseok holiday hours

T Coffee Seongsu offers both takeout and Wi-Fi 👍🏻 The restrooms are separated by gender. The restrooms were so white and spotless, I really liked that! Group seating is also available. During the Chuseok holiday, the café is open from 11am to 8pm on Thursday, September 24 and Saturday, September 26, and closed on Friday, September 25.

Looking for a quiet seat in Seongsu?

If it's your first time, start with the americano or the café latte — they're so nutty and delicious. Both the not-stuffy-at-all basement space and the coffee quality were great. Finding a quiet café in Seongsu isn't easy, so I'd recommend T Coffee Seongsu as a good spot to get work done. If you're craving an americano, café latte, and sand cookie in Seongsu, T Coffee Seongsu is the place.
