We went to Seoul Grand Park with the family today, and stopped by Deo Chadol (더차돌), a restaurant famous as a Seoul Grand Park favorite — and it was so satisfying I have to share it! We visited as a sponsored trip, but my whole family raved about it, so I'm writing this with genuine enthusiasm haha.

Location — right outside Exit 3 of Seonbawi Station

Deo Chadol sits right outside Exit 3 of Seonbawi Station, just 5 minutes by car from Seoul Grand Park Station — perfect to stop by on the way to the park!

It's also about 5 minutes by car from Seoul Land, Let's Run Park (Gwacheon Racecourse), the National Gwacheon Science Museum, the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, and Wonder Park, with easy parking too — definitely worth a stop when you're out in Gwacheon!

Franchise owners, please get in touch quickly haha.

Turns out this place has been on TV quite a bit? Apparently it was featured on KBS's "Delivery Has Arrived" as actor Ryu Seung-ryong's recommended restaurant haha.

Spacious seating area inside Deo Chadol

The inside is nice and spacious with lots of seating! It didn't feel cramped at all, which was great haha.

We visited on a weekday at 1pm so maybe that's why we walked right in without waiting — but the seating area is so large that even on a weekend the line would probably move fast! Still, since reservations are possible, I'd recommend booking ahead just to be safe.

Menu board and our order for a family of 4

Every table has its own kiosk, so ordering was easy. Here's what the menu looked like!

There was such a wide variety of menu items. For our family of four, we ordered the following, and the portions were just right!

  • Deo Chadol 3-person course (₩79,000)
  • Mixed seafood egg soup (₩7,000)

(1) Duck chadol BBQ (350g)

Isn't "duck chadol" such an unusual menu item lol? I've had plenty of beef chadol (thinly sliced brisket) but never duck chadol before — and it was a total success!

Duck chadol and minari grilling on the hot plate

Ahh… the color is insane, right? It comes out with mushrooms, onion, and minari (water celery) all together — as the duck chadol grills up golden brown, the minari soaks up the fat, and that combo is seriously delicious, everyone…

Just look at it sizzling away… (drooling).

The owner's homemade special meat sauce was really tasty!

Dip the duck chadol in like this — and it's basically a trip to paradise. It melts in your mouth, seriously… the taste is a bit like a thicker version of beef brisket lol.

Eating it with minari soaked in duck fat is insanely savory… ❤️ According to the owner, duck fat is rich in unsaturated fatty acids so it's not bad for your health!

(2) Raw duck jumulleok (400g)

After we finished the duck chadol, the owner brought out the duck jumulleok (spicy stir-fried duck)!

Tips for eating duck printed on the kiosk

The kiosk had a tip for eating the duck well lol: eat the rice cake first, then put pickled radish on a perilla leaf, add the meat and garlic, and wrap it up.

We followed the instructions and tasted heaven. The combo of perilla leaf + pickled radish + meat + garlic is seriously insane lol.

We went to the self-serve bar for unlimited refills of perilla leaves and pickled radish haha.

Here's that exact combo! Look at that visual, so good it hurts, ugh.

(3) Doenjang stew

The doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) that comes with the course — no words needed lol, it was so good eaten with rice.

(4) Self-fried rice (for 1)

Self-fried rice pressed on the hot plate

Pressing the self-fried rice lightly onto the hot plate made it so tasty! Topped with the cheese they give you for review events, it's flawless… exactly the flavor Koreans go crazy for lol.

Final thoughts — how was it as a family meal?

If you're looking for a distinctive duck restaurant in Gwacheon, I recommend Deo Chadol! 🦆

  • A wide variety of menus: duck chadol BBQ, duck jumulleok, duck jjajang, duck jjamppong, and more 👍
  • A great place to visit when you want to try duck instead of the usual meat!
  • The owner was really friendly too, so we left feeling good about the whole meal 😊
  • A place both parents and kids will enjoy
  • A go-to restaurant near Seoul Grand Park and Seoul Land

I'd recommend this duck restaurant for a family meal after a visit to Seoul Grand Park or a day out in Gwacheon ❤️.
