Gwacheon duck BBQ with parking after Let's Run Park: Deo Chadol
In short
Deo Chadol is a duck chadol (thinly sliced duck brisket) BBQ restaurant in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi, a 2-minute walk from Exit 3 of Seonbawi Station. After a day out at Let's Run Park (the horse racing park), the writer parked in the lot right in front of Deo Chadol and worked through the couple course: grilled duck chadol, spicy duck stir-fry, doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and fried rice to finish. Kale wraps with grilled water parsley and fried rice stirred into the leftover sauce made it a full, satisfying meal after a Gwacheon outing.

Today I want to introduce a真-authentic duck chadol BBQ spot in Gwacheon. This place was featured on KBS's Baedal Wasseoda Guda as a restaurant recommended by an actor, and the duck chadol was genuinely delicious. Let's get into this Gwacheon restaurant post on Deo Chadol.

2 minutes from Seonbawi Station, 5 minutes by car from Seoul Grand Park

Deo Chadol, a restaurant near the Gwacheon National Science Museum, is a 2-minute walk from Exit 3 of Seonbawi Station, and about 5 minutes by car from Seoul Grand Park, Seoul Land, Let's Run Park, the National Science Museum, and MMCA — perfect for a lunch or dinner stop after a family outing or weekend date! We headed to Deo Chadol for duck BBQ after playing around at the horse racing park.

There's a well-arranged parking space right in front of the restaurant, so it's really convenient if you're driving.

Let's head inside Deo Chadol to get to the delicious duck chadol BBQ.

Inside Deo Chadol: private rooms and the self-serve side dish bar
Here's the inside of Deo Chadol. It's really clean and pleasant — none of that greasy feel or smoky haze you usually get at a BBQ place.

The tables are spaced generously apart, and there are private rooms too, so you can enjoy your duck dishes with some privacy.

The self-serve bar where you can freely grab more side dishes is kept clean and easy to use, and the restaurant even won an award at the 2024 Gwacheon Best Restaurant contest, which made me even more excited.

They also give away a free grilled cheese add-on or a can of a drink if you take part in their Naver review event — no reason not to do it, right?
What's on the menu at Deo Chadol?
The menu features a range of duck dishes — duck chadol BBQ, fresh duck stir-fry, duck chadol jjamppong, chadol duck soup, duck jeyuk, and more.

If you're not sure what to get, I recommend the Deo Chadol couple course, which starts with duck chadol BBQ, moves on to duck stir-fry, a hearty doenjang jjigae, and finishes with fried rice.
What we ordered: the Deo Chadol couple course

That day we ordered Deo Chadol's signature couple course — starting with duck chadol BBQ, then duck stir-fry, a savory doenjang jjigae, and finishing fried rice. Really satisfying lineup.
Grilled duck chadol, the main event
First up was the duck chadol BBQ — fresh duck sliced thin along the grain and rolled into pretty little coils, which sizzle and cook quickly the moment they hit the grill, just like chadolbagi (beef brisket).

There's absolutely no gamey duck smell, just a savory flavor that fills your mouth, and since it's sliced so thin, the texture is soft and melts away.

Wrapping the duck chadol and grilled minari (water dropwort) in a piece of kale and taking a bite — pure deliciousness.

Doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew)
While we were eating, the doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) arrived — a savory, slightly spicy broth that cuts right through the richness of the meat and refreshes your palate.

Spicy duck stir-fry
After cleansing my palate with the mild chadol BBQ, round two was the duck stir-fry — a spicy yet clingy special sauce soaked right into the duck meat, and it was so good.

It's not just aggressively spicy — there's a deep savory flavor that sticks with you, and the meat is tender, so I kept reaching for more.

Fried rice in the leftover sauce
To finish, they added rice, gim (seaweed) flakes, and various ingredients into the leftover stir-fry sauce and fried it up golden brown right on the grill.

The savory duck fat mixed with the spicy sauce is insanely good. I guess Koreans really do need fried rice to finish a meal to feel fully satisfied.

From the savory duck chadol BBQ to the sweet-and-spicy duck stir-fry, the hearty doenjang jjigae, and the fried rice — nothing was lacking, a truly complete duck restaurant. If you're looking for a proper meal in Gwacheon or near Seonbawi Station, I recommend Deo Chadol, a restaurant near Seoul Land.
