Siheung meat restaurant near Lotus Theme Park: Bulhyangjip lunch set

It was such a gorgeous weekday afternoon ☀️ Days like this you just have to get outside!! I went to see the lotus flowers at Siheung Lotus Theme Park 🌸 But first, food — lol — so we headed to Bulhyangjip Mulwang Lake Main Branch nearby!

The restaurant is surrounded by green trees and the sky was so clear that coming for lunch felt kind of like a little outing lol.

Bulhyangjip Mulwang Lake Main Branch is open 11:00 - 20:30 with a break time from 15:00 - 17:00, and it's closed every Monday. There's a private parking lot.

On the way in there's an empty lot that looks like it could be the restaurant's parking,, but it's not!! Keep driving up to the Bulhyangjip building and there's a spacious private lot behind it.

Inside Bulhyangjip: seating and lake-view windows

Inside, Bulhyangjip has rows of table seats, with floor seating further in and spots right by the picture window. The building sits between trees, so it's green right by the entrance too 〰️

Further in there are floor seats like this! Right next to the window, so you get a full view of the trees outside when you sit down 🌳

The seats right in front of the big window are so pretty too, right? You can see the lawn and trees 🌳

The weather was so nice that day the view outside was totally green lol 🌿

Can you bring dogs and kids to Bulhyangjip?

Bulhyangjip Mulwang Lake Main Branch is a dog-friendly restaurant, so there were a lot of customers with dogs. Heading further inside, several tables had dogs with them! Good to know if you're looking for a dog-friendly restaurant by Mulwang Lake — if you're going with your dog, check the signage at the entrance 🐕

There's also signage about bringing kids ☺️ Seems like it was picked by Mammam as a great spot to visit with children! Don't miss the ₩7,000 Mammam membership discount haha.

Bulhyangjip menu and the 41,800 won weekday lunch set

Bulhyangjip's weekday lunch set is ₩41,800, and it comes with bulgogi, bibim noodles, and doenjang jjigae all together. The basic side dishes come out on a whole tray too.

With a name like Bulhyangjip ("charcoal-scent house"), you already kind of know what to order, right? 🤣 I came curious about the smoky scallion bulgogi, and it turns out there's a weekday lunch set!!

Kimchi, namul (seasoned vegetables), cabbage, garlic, ssamjang (dipping paste), pink pickled radish, plus lettuce and perilla leaves served separately!! If you run low on banchan or lettuce, you can grab more from the self-serve bar.

Charcoal scallion bulgogi buried under green onion

Bulhyangjip's bulgogi comes grilled over charcoal, and they pile a mountain of scallions right on top. I'm a lettuce-wrap lover so having so many kinds of greens made me so happy 🤩 Kept glancing around waiting for the meat, and there it was, grilling away on the charcoal 🔥 Wait, where's the meat? 🤣 It's all scallions.

The pan is basically piled up like a scallion pancake, so I instantly got why it's called scallion-pancake bulgogi lol. You can peek a bit of meat around the edges, but in person there's even more scallion than in the photo 🤣 Push the scallions aside a bit and the bulgogi is underneath!!

First tried just the meat alone, then picked up meat and scallion together 😝 Scoop up a big pile of scallion and the meat comes right along with it lol. That's it,, this is the move!! You gotta eat this much scallion 😝 Dipped it in the soy sauce too, and wrapped it in perilla leaf!!

Meat, a heap of scallion, ssamjang, and pink pickled radish all together! This combo was the tastiest way to eat it for me lol.

Perilla seed bibim noodles and stone-pot doenjang jjigae

The bibim noodles (cold mixed noodles) in Bulhyangjip's lunch set come in a huge bowl, a full serving on its own. I thought the noodles would just be a small side next to the meat, but nope,,,, it's a whole bowl lol.

The chicory piled on top of the noodles is cut into easy-to-eat pieces,, first bite I just ate it plain, then wrapped the meat and noodles together in a wrap too. The broth here is insanely good 😝 loaded with perilla seed so it's so nutty. Wait,, I could come here just for the bibim noodles alone?

Ate the bulgogi, then the noodles, then wrapped more perilla leaf bites lol. Once the doenjang jjigae shows up, time for more rice — it comes out bubbling in a stone pot!

From the look of it I thought it was sundubu jjigae (soft tofu stew)!! It's the spicy-kick style 😝

Coffee after lunch at the Mulwang Lake outdoor seats

There's a coffee machine near the entrance of Bulhyangjip, so I got a cup after eating and headed out.

Step outside and there's a prime spot under tree shade overlooking Mulwang Lake in the distance — sat there sipping coffee 👍

Is Bulhyangjip near Mulwang Reservoir worth it?

True to its name, the meat is grilled over charcoal, but I didn't expect them to pile on this much scallion 🤣 It's a lunch set, but the table was packed and so was my stomach 🤣 Great value and a genuinely satisfying meal!! There are a lot of customers with dogs too, so if you're visiting Mulwang Lake with your pup, keep this place in mind as one you can bring them into 🐕 We filled up completely and now off to see the lotus flowers 〰️
