Lately I've been craving that sweet-and-salty marinated beef short rib so badly! So I went hunting for a proper beef rib restaurant in Siheung and landed on 'Daehwa Sutbul Garden' in Janggok-dong. For just ₩59,000 they pile on a full beef rib platter plus handmade sausage, chicken gizzard meat, and even kalguksu and ice cream for dessert — an insanely good value spot! Let's get into the review right away!

Where is Daehwa Sutbul Garden Siheung Janggok Branch, and is there parking?

Daehwa Sutbul Garden sits in the commercial building of the Yusung Hanaedeul First Park apartment complex in Janghyeon-dong, Siheung. If you're driving, you can park in the building's underground lot,

and once you come up the connecting passage from the basement, the restaurant is right there on your right — really easy to find.

Inside Daehwa Sutbul Garden: the room and the self-serve bar
Even the exterior looked spotless, and stepping inside, the interior was just as well kept. The space felt spacious and comfortable, with no sense of crowding at all. It seemed like a great spot for family gatherings, work dinners, or dates.

On one side there's a self-serve bar stocked neatly with all kinds of sauces, side dishes, and fresh vegetables, so you can help yourself without feeling awkward — I really liked that.

The country-of-origin labels were also displayed clearly, which added to my trust in the place!

What comes with the 500g marinated beef short rib platter (59,000 won)?
Looking at the menu, there was a huge range of options — marinated beef ribs, salted beef ribs, a half-and-half set, and even specialty cuts sold individually like diced flower rib, diced skirt steak, tail meat, and brisket point.

We ordered the most popular item, the marinated beef short rib platter (500g / ₩59,000)! Marinated beef short ribs plus handmade sausage, chicken gizzard meat, market-style kalguksu, and even dessert ice cream — as soon as I saw the menu I blurted out that the value here was insane.

Booking ahead: the table set before we sat down
Since I'd made a reservation ahead of time, they'd kindly already set the table neatly for us! Along with the tidy side dishes, we got a complimentary seaweed soup loaded with beef, which was touching before we'd even started grilling, haha.

How the marinated short ribs piled with garlic tasted
And finally, today's star — the marinated beef short rib platter — makes its entrance!!!!

The gleaming ribs came out topped generously with pungent minced garlic, and just looking at it made my mouth water. Handmade sausage and chicken gizzard meat came alongside for grilling too, making the spread look even more abundant.
The moment it hit the grill, the garlic aroma spread and my appetite exploded 🤤 The ribs were packed with juice, incredibly moist. The salty-sweet soy-based marinade had a subtle garlic kick woven through it, and the savory depth was amazing!

Wasabi, hot pepper and chili sauces with grilled tortilla wraps
There was such a variety of dipping sauces for the beef ribs that I never got tired of it! The pungent wasabi combo was clean and refreshing,

and dipping it in the spicy hot pepper sauce or chili sauce gave it a whole different flavor! And here's the special combo tip unique to this Siheung galbi spot: lightly grill the provided tortilla on the pan, then top it with marinated beef short rib and sauce and wrap it up — so good.

Handmade sausage and chicken oyster meat: the texture
The handmade sausage that came with it was plump, bursting with juice with every bite, and the chicken gizzard meat — which I was trying for the first time — had a unique crunchy, cartilage-like texture that was really appealing!

If you care about texture, this is a specialty cut you're bound to love.

Dessert kalguksu, cereal ice cream and red bean ice cream
As we were finishing up the meat, I asked the staff for the dessert kalguksu. Since it's provided complimentary, I didn't expect much, but it came with thin, chewy noodles in a hot fish-cake broth base.

If you like a drink with your meal, this is the kind of thing that'll have the soju going down easy!!!! Hahaha.

We were already stuffed, but there was no way I was skipping the final dessert ice cream haha. Vanilla ice cream topped generously with cereal and red beans — the crunchy cereal made for a really great texture. Finishing off a meat feast with something sweet made for one happy meal ✨
I'd recommend Daehwa Sutbul Garden to anyone in Siheung's Janggok-dong looking to enjoy great-value beef ribs!!!!
