Jokbal for two at a Gimhae restaurant: Myeongji Cheotjip Jangyu Yulha
In short
Myeongji Cheotjip Jangyu Yulha Branch is a Korean restaurant specializing in jokbal (braised pig's trotters) on the 2nd floor of A-One Plaza in Jangyu Yulha, Gimhae. Two diners visited on a weekday for lunch and ordered the small jokbal, served with a full set of banchan, ttukbaegi (stone pot) steamed egg, and doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew). The meat came out moist and free of any gamy smell, with pleasantly chewy skin — a solid pick for lunch or a family meal.

Location and hours at Myeongji Cheotjip Jangyu Yulha Branch

Location: 2nd floor, A-One Plaza, 52 Yulha 6-ro, Gimhae, Gyeongnam Hours: 11:00 ~ 21:00 (break time 15:00 ~ 17:00 / last order 20:30) Parking: Building basement parking and nearby parking facilities available

Right from the entrance, a round decorative light fixture greets you with a touch of atmosphere, making it feel like you're stepping into an upscale Korean dining space. 😋😋

There's a spacious basement parking lot in the building, so it's really convenient to visit by car. We came on a weekday and there was plenty of seating available~

Interior and semi-private seating
The interior has a calm wood-tone design and a wide-open view through the floor-to-ceiling windows, giving it a real sense of openness — and it was spotlessly clean too.

A restaurant with just the right atmosphere for bringing your parents 🥰 It felt upscale.

There's also a semi-private space (?) that looked great for family gatherings — nice vibe too.

Banchan and doenjang jjigae
After ordering easily via the tablet at each table, the basic banchan (side dishes) — neat and tidy — get set down. Haha, the colors were pretty too.

From fresh ssam (wrap) vegetables to spicy kimchi and soft ttukbaegi (stone pot) steamed egg, each dish was clean and simple — perfect for whetting your appetite before the meal. 😚

This doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) was tasty too! Haha, it paired really well with the jokbal.

Jokbal small for two — how did it taste?
Jokbal (small/medium/large: ₩42,000–₩68,000), braised in Myeongji Cheotjip's own special sauce made with various fruits and medicinal herbs. Since there were two of us, we ordered the small.

Finally the main event, jokbal, arrived! It already passed with flying colors just from the glossy, shiny look. 👍👍 Braised in Myeongji Cheotjip's own special sauce with fruits and medicinal herbs, it had a deep, rich flavor with no gamy smell at all.
Taking a bite, the meat was moist and tender, while the skin still had that satisfying chewiness.
Look at the skin part 👀 Doesn't it look even chewier than at a dedicated jokbal restaurant?

Even eaten plain, the special sauce gives it just the right seasoning, and wrapping a big bite in fresh perilla leaf with the special sauce and garlic doubles the savory flavor.

A dessert corner to finish
After the meal, you can wrap things up cleanly with a cool ade or a warm brewed coffee at the dessert corner set up in one corner of the restaurant. That kind of attention to detail made me feel taken care of right up to the end. Haha.
