Smashed avocado brunch café in Gwangalli: Working Holiday Minrak
In short
Working Holiday Minrak is a brunch café with Gwangan Bridge views on the 7th floor of the Badamaru building on Minrak Waterside Road in Gwangalli, Suyeong, Busan. Arriving at 3pm on a weekend afternoon, I ordered the jambon eggs Benedict (19,000 won) and the smashed avocado (17,000 won) with sourdough, and the lotus root fritters stuck into the avocado were the surprise highlight. Working Holiday Minrak covers everything from brunch to an evening glass of wine, so it is the café I always recommend to friends visiting Busan.

Working Holiday Minrak is on the 7th floor of Badamaru near Minrak Waterside Park. Open daily 09:00-22:30, with last order at 22:00. There's plenty nearby too — Millak The Market, the waterside park, Gwangalli Beach — so it's perfect for stopping here and then wandering elsewhere.
You can book specific seats through Naver Reservation, so if you want a window seat, I'd recommend booking ahead!
- 1 hour free parking in the building lot when you spend ₩20,000 or more
- 2 hours (or 1 hour each for two cars) when you spend ₩40,000

What are the Gwangan Bridge view and seating like?
Working Holiday Minrak is a spacious place so there's no cramped feeling, and it's decorated with such stylish interior design that literally anywhere is a photo zone, haha.

The sea view that amazes me every time I come. Gwangan Bridge stretches right out in front of you, and just sitting there doing nothing while looking at it feels healing!!
Even visiting around 3pm on a weekend, there were quite a lot of customers. This place is definitely a hot spot...

Whatever seat you get, it's stylish and pretty, so it's perfect for a date too! There are lots of big tables as well, great for group visits — and I actually saw a lot of people there with groups.

It's an open kitchen too, which puts you more at ease,

There's a sofa seating area too, which looks super comfortable. Calling that spot for next time!! Not sure if the t-shirts are just decoration or for sale, but I want one...

What I ordered at Working Holiday Minrak and what it cost
Working Holiday Minrak has so many delicious-looking menu items that I spent forever deciding... Brunch menu, side dishes, pasta, Italian pizza, bakery items, coffee, alcohol, wine...! So many options across food and drinks.
- Jambon eggs Benedict ₩19,000
- Smashed avocado ₩17,000
- Brewing – Ethiopia ₩8,000
- Americano ₩5,500

It's here!! On the left is the jambon eggs Benedict and on the right is the smashed avocado. Both dishes let you choose between croissant or sourdough, so I went with sourdough.

The weather was great, the outside view was great, and it was all so relaxing that I felt totally content. I saw a lot of people working there with laptops or tablets — I feel like work would actually go better here somehow? It'd also be great to bring a book and read!!

Jambon eggs Benedict (19,000 won)
The jambon eggs Benedict has arugula and house-made jambon (ham) piled on top of sourdough. It's loaded with ingredients so it's really filling, and since it's all healthy ingredients, I feel like I could eat as much as I want without gaining weight, haha. The egg and tomato paired nicely with it too.

Smashed avocado with lotus root fritters (17,000 won)
Smashed avocado with a generous amount of avocado piled on!! I liked that there were plenty of vegetables too, and the thing stuck into the avocado is a lotus root fritter — which turned out to be a real hidden gem.
The poached egg was cooked just right. Eating the yolk and avocado together with the bread brings out even more of that rich, nutty flavor.

Pretty and delicious, both at once..! The colors are so varied that just looking at it whets your appetite, and it tastes even better when you eat it, haha.

That oozing yolk still makes my mouth water just looking at the photo now.

The coffee is good too! They also have beer and wine, so it's a good spot for a drink.

Can you see how much jambon there is on there... I've never had a dish with this much jambon piled on before..! It's not salty at all, nicely mellow instead. By the way, they also have a jambon pizza here that's really tasty, so I'd definitely recommend ordering that too.

Piling everything onto the bread and taking one big bite — that's the standard way to eat this.

Every single ingredient is genuinely delicious, and they all go so well together.

I feel like they could sell the lotus root fritters on their own and I'd buy them 🤤 They're delicious dipped in the avocado too, haha.
Is Working Holiday Minrak worth a weekend brunch?
If you're heading to Gwangalli, be sure to visit the brunch café 'Working Holiday Minrak'..! It's great for going in the morning for brunch, and just as great for going in the evening to watch the night view with a glass of wine 🫶
