Mellows near Ttukseom Station: coffee and soft serve together
Mellows is a coffee and soft serve café between Seongsu and Seoul Forest. On a day when just coffee with a friend in Seongsu felt like not quite enough, I went looking for a place to add ice cream too.
These days the weather is finally cool enough to sit outside on the terrace without breaking a sweat — great timing to be out and about!
Sitting between Seongsu and Seoul Forest, it's a nice stop on a walk, and since you can get coffee and soft serve together at such friendly prices, I was curious how it would taste.
This Ttukseom Station café unusually also sells Sangha Farm organic ice cream, so kids would probably love it too. Beyond coffee and ice cream, the menu even has whiskey — kind of unexpected!
Inside there's a cozy back seating area as well as seats with a window view.
Somehow the coffee already felt promising.
₩2,500 americano, decaf for ₩300 more
Where else in Seongsu or Ttukseom can you find a 2,500-won americano and a 3,200-won café latte — unless it's a low-price chain!
Decaf costs 300 won extra here, so I ordered mine decaf!
This time I visited with a friend and we ordered one iced americano, one decaf iced americano, and chocolate and matcha ice cream. Sharing one coffee each plus the ice cream between the two of us was just right, and since the price was cheaper than expected, ordering one each felt even better haha.
Soft serve flavors
These days, ordering a coffee plus a dessert at a café can quickly add up, but at Mellows ordering coffee and ice cream together still feels affordable — great! And the soft serve flavors are surprisingly varied!!
Starting from plain milk, there's affogato, matcha, chocolate, and peanut butter, plus fruit flavors like peach, mango, and strawberry. After some deliberation, we went with chocolate and matcha haha.
₩3,500 decaf iced latte — how does it taste?
Let's try the decaf iced latte, priced at 3,500 won at Mellows!
With such a low price I didn't expect much, but the coffee was nutty, exactly the flavor I like. Turns out this place is a hidden coffee gem? My friend and I agreed a lot of people probably take this out too — slurp!
Sangha Farm ice cream with granola
The ice cream is made with Sangha Farm milk, so you can taste the nutty milk flavor, and there's cereal-like granola at the bottom. Ordering one each and taking turns tasting was a fun way to compare the two flavors!
Above all, the ice cream portion isn't too much, which made it perfect as a dessert alongside coffee.
We used the rolled wafer cookie topping to scoop up the ice cream haha.
When you're browsing around Seongsu and want a quick rest, something sweet like this really hits the spot — recharge and back out to explore haha. Going just for the ice cream is great too, but ordering a coffee with an ice cream for that bittersweet combo is pretty good too!?
The space has a cute, dainty feel, so it was nice to take photos once the order arrived, and the ice cream itself looked adorable — the kind of vibe Seongsu café-goers would love!
Outdoor cushion seats and an evening BOOZE & SNACKS menu
There are also cushion seats along the outer wall of the café, giving this open, airy Ttukseom Station café a proper outdoor feel.
We happened to be wearing matching socks we'd bought at Newnew in Seongsu without realizing it, so of course we took a commemorative photo haha. During the day the menu is mostly coffee and soft serve, but in the evening there's a separate BOOZE & SNACKS menu — highballs, gin and tonics, and simple snacks like pistachio cream truffle crackers, so you can enjoy a completely different vibe at night. Nice atmosphere, right!?
If you're looking for a Seoul Forest café with feeling, need a quick rest during a walk, or want to meet a friend in Seongsu for a good dessert spot — this is a Ttukseom Station café worth stopping by.
