Gyeongju brunch restaurant open 10:30am, no break time: Midam Kitchen

There are so many snack shops and restaurants along Hwangnidang-gil in Gyeongju. It's a great street to just wander, haha — honestly more popular than the historic sites themselves. We were walking around and got hungry, so we decided to eat early. This place opens from 10:30am, so it was perfect for brunch. Let me introduce it.

What Midam Kitchen looks like from the street

I visited Midam Kitchen, a pasta restaurant on Hwangnidang-gil in Gyeongju. It runs with no break time, which is really nice.

When you're traveling, you often skip breakfast and snack a lot, so mealtimes get ambiguous. Midam Kitchen is open non-stop from 10:30am to 9pm, which is great.

The front yard is lush and green. It was raining a little that day and a bit dim, but the greenery still made the space feel fresh.

There are two rooms with 6-person tables like this, which seemed great for families with young kids or people meeting in groups to eat comfortably.

Midam Kitchen is a great Western restaurant on Hwangnidang-gil in Gyeongju. Past the rooms, all the way in the back, there's a bright space with a view outside.

A round table and a 5-person table are set side by side. The spacing between tables was really generous, which I also liked. While we were eating, a group of guests came in — quite a lot of people — and they split up between the round table and the 5-person table in the back. The space felt roomy and comfortable.

You pick your menu from the kiosk set up at each table.

There was salad and pork cutlet too, but we decided on pizza and pasta. We chose the quattro cheese pizza and the Toowoomba pasta.

The Toowoomba pasta arrived looking delicious. I really love Outback's Toowoomba pasta

and Midam Kitchen's Toowoomba pasta on Hwangnidang-gil in Gyeongju was an absolute favorite. The thick noodles went really well with the thick, creamy sauce. It also had a spicy kick, so it wasn't heavy at all — actually more delicious for it.

I thought it might be a bit too spicy for my elementary-school son, but he ate it happily, saying it was delicious.

Two big prawns were on top, and the shrimp even had a bit of a smoky, fire-cooked flavor, haha.

A dish we thoroughly enjoyed.

and it was served with honey, so we dipped the crust ends in it and enjoyed every bite.

If you're wandering around Hwangnidang-gil in Gyeongju and get hungry, try visiting Midam Kitchen for pasta. It opens at 10:30am and has no break time, so it's a great place to drop by anytime. We had Toowoomba pasta and pizza, and the Toowoomba pasta in particular was really, really good. They also have pork cutlet, so I think it's a great spot to visit with young kids too. The owner was also very kind.
