Seomun Market is the most famous market in Daegu! It's also where you can find납작만두 (flat mandu) and 누른국수 (pressed noodles), two of Daegu's famous 10 flavors.

And I heard Daesin Peanut Bread is such a huge issue these days that it's threatening to break into that top-10 ranking, so I went to check it out. Even on weekdays the place overflows with people, and going on a weekend I was jostled and bumped from every side, totally dazed — and right in the middle of that chaos I found Daesin Peanut Bread, the popular spot at Daegu's Seomun Market!!

Business must be booming, because even though the stall itself isn't that big, I counted roughly six staff members working there.

I have a strong feeling this one will soon make it onto Daegu's list of 10 famous flavors.

I'd come to Seomun Market after a meal, just to get some air and look around, so I modestly ordered 45 peanut breads and 2 egg breads. Hahaha.

If you like a crispier shell, you can ask them to bake it without peanuts inside!!!

Handmade peanut butter, peanut latte and black peanut gift sets

At Daesin Peanut Bread in Daegu's Seomun Market, they also sell 100% handmade peanut butter and a refreshing peanut latte.

The peanut latte comes in slush form and it's NON-coffee, so it seemed like something you could enjoy with your kids too.

With the upcoming Chuseok holiday, they also had gift sets that would be great to give to close friends and relatives. If you live in Daegu and need to travel to visit family elsewhere, this distinctive gift set seemed like a really nice option.

They also had black peanuts, which are rich in anthocyanins and unsaturated fats. That was actually a first for me — I always thought peanuts only came in that reddish-brown color.

How the peanut bread is baked, and how clean the stall is

While we were browsing around, our ordered peanut bread was being baked. Seeing how generously each mold was packed with peanuts, there was absolutely no sense of it being some careless street snack. The area was kept tidy, and the staff wore gloves and masks — everything was made very hygienically.

And then, the finished crispy peanut breads!!!

Ahh~ I want to scream~

Seeing that huge pile of peanut bread made me hungry all over again even though I'd already eaten. The staff member baked it perfectly crisp!!

Eating it on the subway, then reheating the rest in an air fryer

We snacked on it together with my daughter on the subway ride home, and reheated the leftovers briefly in an air fryer.

It turned warm and crispy again, just like it had come fresh out of the oven. If I'd known it would turn out this good, I would've bought more, ㅠㅠ.

The egg bread, which baked a little further in the air fryer, was delicious too. It tasted kind of like an egg baked inside a castella sponge.

Another must-visit spot when you go to Daegu's Seomun Market!! Daesin Peanut Bread!!! Next time I think I'll buy even more — it was so good even reheated.
