Today I wanted to properly enjoy delicious Western food in a great atmosphere, so I headed to a famous Haeundae Western food spot on Dalmaji-gil in Busan — Bueokgan Haeundae Branch!

It's a spacious, comfortable European restaurant of over 330 square meters, already well known as a go-to spot for Haeundae dates or gatherings~ I love pasta, pizza, and risotto in general, so I went in with high expectations, and the vibe of the place matched the taste of the food perfectly — let me write up my review of this good-atmosphere Haeundae Chuseok-worthy Western restaurant, Bueokgan!

What comes in the Bueokgan couple's dish set?
That day we went with the Bueokgan couple's dish set, which lets you try several popular menu items at a reasonable price! It came packed with pumpkin soup, garden salad, abalone cream risotto, and basil margherita pizza!

① Sweet pumpkin soup and garden salad at Bueokgan
The pumpkin soup that woke up our appetites before the main meal was made by hand-grinding fresh pumpkin right at the restaurant, giving it a deep, rich sweetness — amazing! It wasn't an artificial syrupy sweetness, but the soft, wholesome taste of the pumpkin itself came through fully, so I was impressed from the very first bite! The fresh garden salad that came alongside had crisp vegetables balanced with a tangy dressing, making it a perfect appetizer~

② Abalone cream risotto with fried enoki mushrooms
The abalone cream risotto caught our eyes with its looks alone, and it was made with rich abalone intestine sauce, packing in deep ocean flavor. It was loaded with chewy abalone and clam meat, giving it a fun texture to chew on, and topped with crispy fried enoki mushrooms — the balance of nuttiness and crunch was fantastic. It's a premium risotto you can enjoy to the last bite without the usual heaviness of cream sauce, and since it wasn't spicy at all, it was great to share with a kid too!

③ Basil margherita pizza
The basil margherita pizza stood out even in the dough — a fragrant basil pesto base piled high with fresh roasted tomatoes, on a chewy yet light crust, where the salty-tangy tomato and basil aromas blended without being overpowering. It was light rather than heavy, making it the perfect pairing to go alongside the risotto.
