Nampo Station sushi set with stone-pot roe rice and udon: Moshi Moshi

In short

Moshi Moshi Sushi Lotte Department Store Gwangbok is a Japanese sushi restaurant on the 10th-floor dining floor of the Lotte Department Store Gwangbok main building in Nampo-dong, Jung-gu, Busan. For dinner the writer ordered Set No. 1, which brings 16 pieces of sushi with a stone-pot fish roe rice bowl and udon, plus a 10-piece salmon sushi plate served with 3 pieces of tempura, and found the udon broth richer than the standard clear soup. Linked underground to Nampo and Jagalchi stations, Moshi Moshi Sushi is an easy sit-down meal before or after shopping.

Here's a review of Moshi Moshi Sushi Gwangbok, a sushi spot at Lotte Department Store Gwangbok that's easy to grab a meal at while shopping in Nampo-dong.

Entrance to Moshi Moshi Sushi on the 10th floor of Lotte Department Store Gwangbok

With a clean department store dining hall and a variety of sushi and set-course menus, it's a place I end up at fairly often whenever I'm at Lotte Gwangbok.

Where is Moshi Moshi Sushi in Lotte Department Store Gwangbok?

Moshi Moshi Sushi started with its flagship location in Busan and now runs directly-operated branches across the city. Hours are daily 10:30–21:00, with last order at 20:10.

Whichever branch you visit, you can count on fresh ingredients and a consistently good sushi experience, and this time I went to the Lotte Gwangbok branch, handy for combining shopping and a meal.

Being inside the department store means easy parking and a pleasant surrounding area, making it a good option for family meals or a bite while shopping. If you're after a Nampo Japanese restaurant with a clean atmosphere and a wide menu, this is a comfortable choice.

Nampo and Jagalchi stations connect directly to the department store basement, so getting to Moshi Moshi Sushi is quite convenient.

As dinnertime approached, tables started filling up fast — a sign of a genuinely popular sushi spot.

A steady stream of customers kept coming in after finishing their shopping, and the dining room quickly picked up energy.

What comes with Set No. 1: 16 pieces of sushi, udon and stone-pot roe rice

This visit, I ordered Set No. 1 from Moshi Moshi Sushi Gwangbok. It comes with 16 pieces of sushi, a fish roe rice bowl, and a noodle dish, plus vegetable salad, tofu salad, and clear soup as standard.

The sushi lineup ranges from salmon to eel, so you get to enjoy a good variety of flavors.

Overall the ingredients were fresh and the flavor clean, making it easy to eat without feeling weighed down,

and for anyone wanting a hearty full meal near Nampo Station, this works well as a proper set course.

How the udon broth and stone-pot fish roe rice tasted

For the noodle dish in Set No. 1, I went with udon. Rather than a small side portion, it comes as a full, generous bowl — plenty to share.

The noodles were springy and the broth rich yet clean, so much so that I kept spooning up the udon broth more than the clear soup — genuinely satisfying.

The fish roe rice bowl arrives piping hot in a stone pot. The pop of the roe paired with the savory rice worked well together, and staying warm to the last bite made it a great companion to the sushi.

10 pieces of salmon sushi with 3 pieces of tempura

One dish I order often at Moshi Moshi Sushi is the salmon sushi, which comes as a set of 10 pieces.

Table setting with 10-piece salmon sushi and tempura

The salmon is soft, fresh, and generously portioned, so if you like salmon, this is a dish that's hard not to enjoy.

With 10 pieces total, the salmon sushi is a filling portion.

It comes with 3 pieces of tempura — shrimp, sweet pumpkin, and sweet potato — along with vegetable salad, tofu salad, and clear soup.

The tempura is freshly fried, crisp on the outside with thick, substantial fillings inside. Alternating between the crunchy tempura and the soft salmon sushi gave a nice contrast in texture, making the meal feel even more complete.

It's also a solid choice for anyone hunting for salmon sushi around Jagalchi or Nampo-dong.

Moshi Moshi Sushi also offers various solo set menus like udon set, buckwheat noodle set, and sushi set for anyone eating alone.

With not just sushi but noodle dishes and full set courses to choose from, the menu range is genuinely broad.

There's also a pork cutlet and mini udon set for kids, making this a fine choice for visiting with children.

It's a place I'd recommend for family outings or whenever a group wants to pick dishes that suit everyone's taste at the Lotte Gwangbok dining hall.

I haven't tried the chashu menu yet, but given how much I enjoyed everything else, I'd like to order it on my next visit.
