Karaage add-on with a two-person sushi set in Nampo-dong: Moshi Moshi

I really like sushi, so I go eat it whenever the craving hits. This time too, I went out for some good sushi 🍣

It's directly connected to Nampo Station, so it's easy to find, and reservations are possible too — good to know before you visit :)

What the restaurant and seating are like

Once you step inside, the space is split into table seats and bar seats. Overall it was neatly arranged and the seating felt pretty generous. At the bar seats you can watch the sushi being made right in front of you, haha 😁

The menu and ordering the two-person set

Looking at the menu, they had quite a wide range — from various sushi to udon, soba, and fried dishes. There were simple single-plate meals as well as several set options sized for different numbers of people, so there was plenty of choice. Sushi could be chosen by preference too, like salmon, halibut, or assorted, and individual items could be ordered separately.

We ordered the 2-person set with karaage (Japanese fried chicken) added on. Since the set comes with noodles and salad along with the sushi, it looked plenty filling for two of us.

First to arrive: chashu (braised pork belly)

The chashu (braised pork) included in the 2-person set came out first. The tender chashu topped with bean sprouts, onion, and ginger made for a really great combination. The salty flavor paired with the ginger kept it from feeling greasy, and my hand kept reaching for more. Honestly, it kept pulling me back in 🤤

And then the sushi we'd been waiting for arrived. A single plate came piled with several varieties, and it looked delicious just to look at. With salmon, halibut, shrimp, eel, and more all together, it was fun trying each one. The fish was cut nice and thick and fresh, which suited our sushi-loving taste buds well.

The egg nigiri was soft and sweet, the kind of flavor even little kids would enjoy. I actually like this kind of sweet egg sushi too, so I ate it happily. The halibut was chewy yet light, very clean-tasting. They also had baby chairs at the restaurant, so I thought it'd be nice to come back with kids next time.

Choosing soba and adding karaage

For the noodle dish that comes with the set, you can choose soba, udon, or ramen. I went with soba. The chilled broth and springy noodles were great to have between bites of sushi. And then the karaage we added on top! Crispy outside and juicy inside — we kept picking off pieces and it disappeared in no time 😂

Make sure to leave a Naver receipt review after your meal — we jumped on it right away, since it gets you 2 pieces of shrimp nigiri. Even that last shrimp nigiri was springy and delicious, so we finished it without leaving a single piece 🤭

From chashu to sushi, soba, and karaage, we ate plenty, and wrapped it up neatly with the shrimp nigiri. The two of us walked out well fed and satisfied.
