On the way back from a trip to Busan, I stopped by Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap, a milmyeon (chewy cold noodle) restaurant near Busan Station. Milmyeon is one of my soul foods — I always make sure to eat it whenever I'm catching the KTX for a Busan trip or business.
Finding it from Busan Station
Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap

The restaurant has a clean black-toned exterior and sits on the first floor, so it was easy to find. It looked so neat and stylish from the outside that I naturally expected the food to be just as clean, and walked right in.
Interior and tablet ordering

The interior was spacious and stylish, giving it a comfortable feel. You can order easily from a tablet at your table. Being right by Busan Station, it seemed to draw a lot of travelers before and after taking the KTX. The space is laid out generously too, which is handy for travelers with lots of luggage.

There was a framed article on the wall noting that it had been selected as one of 2023's The Taste Star Road recommended restaurants — a Busan Station milmyeon spot with the credentials to prove it.

The wall covered in celebrity autographs alone told me this place is already well known and talked about. There were so many signatures, I spent a while just looking around at them.
Menu and prices

Here's the menu at Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap. The signature dishes are water milmyeon, bibim milmyeon, and dwaeji gukbap (pork soup), with side menu items like sundae gukbap (blood sausage soup), suyuk (boiled pork), and mandu (dumplings) as well. Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap makes its milmyeon with in-house broth, seasoning, and homemade noodle dough.

The seasonings you can add to the milmyeon and gukbap are neatly arranged, and aprons were available all around too — made things easy to use.
Side dishes and warm broth

Once you order, a neat spread of side dishes arrives — kimchi, mumallaengi (dried radish), lettuce, and chives. The basic side dish lineup worked well with everything, from the soup and suyuk to the milmyeon. A warm broth was also served, and its deep, savory flavor was perfect for settling the stomach before the meal.
Water and bibim milmyeon with a small suyuk

We ordered one bibim milmyeon, one water milmyeon, and a small suyuk to share. Since the noodles are homemade, they were nice and chewy with great savory flavor.

The suyuk comes out set on a steamer over a burner. Even the small size was a really generous portion.

Keeping it on the steamer meant we could enjoy it warm down to the very last piece, which was satisfying. The lean, tender meat and just-right fat ratio were pretty much perfect.

The basic side dishes are really delicious. Wrapping the suyuk with mumallaengi especially is such a perfect combo.

Piling milmyeon on top of the suyuk was so good too — the savory richness and spiciness balance out and you never get tired of it. The bibim milmyeon, topped with plenty of sauce, was spicy-sweet and refreshing, blowing away the heat. It's not too spicy, so it's easy for anyone to enjoy, and the savory flavor really wakes up your appetite.
