Busan Korean BBQ for beef cuts and cold noodles: Hanuso Dwitgogi
In short
Hanuso Dwitgogi Beomil Branch is a Korean barbecue restaurant in Dong-gu, Busan. For my boyfriend’s birthday, we had Korean beef dwitgogi, rib dwitgogi, sirloin, the Naver-reservation yukhoe service, and kimchi cold noodles. Verdict: the Korean beef dwitgogi, generous cold noodles, and excellent banchan stood out.

Birthday beef at Hanuso Dwitgogi in Beomil-dong
Hanuso Dwitgogi Beomil Branch (하누소뒷고기 범일점) was the Beomil-dong barbecue place I’d always wondered about whenever I passed by. I came to treat my boyfriend to beef for his birthday! We parked near Jayu Market, but since it was the weekend, parking in front of the restaurant was free too. We should’ve parked right out front~~
A group-friendly interior and open kitchen

Hanuso Dwitgogi Beomil Branch is available for private rental. There are enough tables for a seriously big group, plus private rooms. I want to work for a company that has beef dinners for team gatherings ^-^ Honestly, this is the kind of great place where I’d love to go for a team dinner and eat a ton! The kitchen is open, so you can watch them take out and slice the meat when you order, haha.
From Korean beef dwitgogi to value sets

- Value sets (400 g): sirloin ₩95,000; sirloin + tenderloin ₩95,000
- Value sets (400 g): sirloin + assorted ribs ₩86,000; tenderloin + assorted ribs ₩86,000

The Korean beef dwitgogi, rib dwitgogi, and sirloin we ordered

- Korean beef dwitgogi ₩14,900, 2 servings
- Rib dwitgogi ₩21,900, 1 serving
- Sirloin ₩25,900, 1 serving
- Kimchi cold noodles ₩6,000

Hanuso Dwitgogi’s basic spread included pickled onions, pickles, seasoned chives, pickled perilla leaves, and shredded radish salad. The shredded radish salad was seriously delicious!

Fresh seasoned lettuce, water kimchi, and seaweed soup also came as banchan (side dishes). I’d been drinking until 2 a.m. the night before and suffered from a hangover all day, but the water kimchi cleared it right up... An unexpectedly great hangover-food spot, sob haha. Anyway, the water kimchi and seaweed soup were both delicious, and every side dish was above average.
Don’t skip the Naver-reservation yukhoe service

Make a Naver reservation and you get complimentary yukhoe (Korean beef tartare). Places don’t usually give service this good these days, right? Definitely make a Naver reservation for Hanuso Dwitgogi Beomil Branch! And it was insanely good. The seasoning on the yukhoe was just right, and the beef was genuinely excellent. There was quite a lot too, so we could eat it with the meat almost until the end, haha.

In photo order, that’s rib dwitgogi and Korean beef dwitgogi. Isn’t the color of this meat absolutely crazy? (p) I’ve eaten quite a bit of beef lately, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen quality like this. The photos came out beautifully too, so I was already in a good mood before eating.

Chewy, nutty rib dwitgogi
Rib dwitgogi is said to be a cut from the rib belly, between the seventh and twelfth ribs. We started with the rib dwitgogi. It was tender but also had a satisfying chew. It was packed with marbling, so nutty and unbelievably delicious! It was nicely thick too, which made the flavor feel even richer.

The Korean beef dwitgogi we both liked even more
Korean beef dwitgogi is a Hanuso Dwitgogi Beomil Branch specialty that I haven’t seen anywhere else. It was my first time seeing that kind of grain (?) in beef, and both my boyfriend and I liked the Korean beef dwitgogi more than the rib dwitgogi! Both were delicious, but Korean beef dwitgogi wins. Maybe because it was a flavor I’d never had before??? Anyway, it was tender and delicious. At ₩14,900 per 100 g, it’s amazing value too.

Sirloin really is sirloin... insanely delicious... It looked impossible for it not to taste good even when raw. I think the quality of the meat itself at Hanuso Dwitgogi Beomil Branch is overwhelmingly good. I’ve never seen sirloin this pretty, haha. There’s a reason it’s so popular.
Kimchi cold noodles and yukhoe together

The kimchi cold noodles were great for a hangover too ^-^... The portion was huge and they were so tasty that, at ₩6,000, they felt more like ₩9,000. I’m glad we got cold noodles instead of doenjang jjigae!

Definitely get the complimentary yukhoe with a Naver reservation and eat it with the kimchi cold noodles. It’s basically yukhoe noodles! They went so well together and were delicious, haha.

How to survive as a Beomil-dong barbecue restaurant: give everyone a complimentary can of soft drink! Honestly, this seems like a place specialized for group gatherings and company dinners. Hoping my next team dinner can be beef too, I recommend Hanuso Dwitgogi Beomil Branch to anyone looking for a great beef restaurant in Beomil-dong.
