Suwon café with folding doors: Fortnum peach tea at Diaz Cake Boutique

A cake spot every Suwon local knows — Diaz. While trying to figure out where to go among the cafés near Suwon City Hall Station, I ended up at Diaz Cake Boutique.

Diaz Cake Boutique near Suwon City Hall Station: 2nd floor on Nahyeoseok-geori

Diaz Cake Boutique, a café worth visiting near Suwon City Hall Station, sits right at the start of Nahyeoseok-geori in Ingye-dong, Suwon. Café Diaz is on the 4th floor, and Diaz Cake Boutique is on the 2nd!

This place focuses mainly on cake, hand-drip coffee, and tea. It has a more upscale, calmer vibe than most other cafés, so it's the first place that comes to mind when I want to enjoy dessert quietly.

Folding doors, sofa seats and the mood inside Diaz Cake Boutique

Sitting in the middle of Nahyeoseok-geori, in a building with great natural light, the interior feels bright and cheerful — exactly the kind of place that comes to mind on a nice day. The seats toward the back have an upscale interior that pairs really well with tea and cake.

With a light breeze drifting through and all the folding doors thrown wide open, it was a genuinely happy-making place to be.

There are also tall, comfortable sofa seats elsewhere in the café. They said the space was designed so people could feel calm and relaxed within an upscale interior — and honestly, I'd say they nailed it.

What's on the menu at Diaz Cake Boutique: seasonal fruit cakes and tea

Diaz has tons of reviews as a cake spot! The star menu items are cakes built around seasonal fruit.

When I visited, the display case was packed full of gorgeous-looking fresh cream cakes — and it looked like a lot of people were ordering whole cakes too!

Since it was fig season, there was a fig cake on display. Diaz says it only uses 10% dairy Seoul Milk fresh cream.

They were clearly proud of using only good-quality vanilla bean and butter too — and honestly, just looking at the cakes on display, you can tell they don't skimp on ingredients.

A regular fresh fruit cake, a grapefruit cake, and even a peach cake — just seeing how much fruit is piled onto these whole cakes would make anyone happy to receive one as a gift.

The grapefruit cake and fig cake both look like they'd be so good — really, really loaded with fruit.

There's also a tea menu to enjoy alongside the cake! Lots of tea options I'd never even seen before.

There's a tea set that pairs various teas with financiers. Besides that, the drinks menu keeps it simple with the basics — americano, café latte, vanilla latte, flat white.

Fruit fresh cream cake and Fortnum & Mason Black Tea with Peach

We ordered an iced americano, a Fortnum & Mason Black Tea with Peach, and a fruit cream cake! The whole thing looked so good on the pretty table, matching the nice atmosphere haha.

Sitting by that beautiful, sunlit window, with a cool autumn breeze coming through, made for such a good time...

The nutty iced americano with no sourness paired really well with the sweet cake.

And of course the fruit cream cake, loaded with rich dairy fresh cream, couldn't possibly be bad! Inside it was packed with all kinds of fresh fruit — grapefruit, fig, blueberry, peach, shine muscat, and more blueberries.

Great vibe, tasty drinks and cake — this cake spot near Suwon City Hall Station is a nice place to relax over coffee and cake, and since it's such a good cake shop, it's also great for picking up a whole cake to go. Recommended haha.

I don't know much about tea myself, but I'd recommend this place to tea lovers too.
