Rainy-day lunch in Songdo, Pohang: chop steak and pasta at Plan A

I had a reason to stop by Pohang after a long while! Since I was in Pohang, I figured I should at least see the sea, so I headed to Songdo Beach — and it turned out to be right around lunchtime!! Since it was lunch, I started looking for somewhere to eat and decided on Plan A Restaurant!!

Where is Plan A Restaurant, and where do you park?

Plan A Restaurant is on the 4th floor of a building at 1189 Huimangdae-ro, Nam-gu, Pohang, and you can park at the public parking lot right near the restaurant. I parked at the public lot, and it was spacious!! It's really nice having a public parking lot right by the restaurant!!

Since it's on the 4th floor, I headed straight up! It seemed like it would also be great to visit after a swim at Songdo Beach at the tail end of summer!!

Opening hours and break time at Plan A Restaurant

Plan A Restaurant is open from 11:45 AM to 9:00 PM! Last order is possible until 8:30, and the break time in between differs between weekdays and weekends! Weekdays run from 3:15 PM to 5:00 PM, and weekends from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM, so it's good to check before you visit!!

Among the restaurants in Songdo, Plan A has apparently held its spot since 2015 — and given how quickly the commercial area around here changes, a place that's stayed a Songdo favorite for that long earns even more trust!

Inside Plan A: partitioned tables and an open kitchen

The interior at Plan A Restaurant is spacious enough for group gatherings, and there are partitions between seats so you can sit somewhat privately. Walking in, the space really was quite large!!! With such a spacious interior, this felt like a great Songdo, Pohang restaurant for family meals or group get-togethers too!

Especially with the partitions between tables giving a sense of privacy, I thought it'd be really convenient for dates too!!

The kitchen is open-style too, which was nice!! Being able to watch the cooking process was really appealing!

It was a bit of a shame that it was raining when we visited this Songdo, Pohang restaurant, but the view was really pretty!! Being an ocean-view restaurant overlooking Songdo Beach in Pohang made it even more appealing!

Simple pickles were set up for you to help yourself to!!

What two of us ordered and what it cost

Plan A Restaurant has quite a variety of menu items prepared! After thinking it over, we ordered the Plan A beef chop steak (₩22,000), shrimp rosé spaghetti (₩16,000), and beef cream spaghetti (₩16,000) all at once!!

The portions were generous, which was great!! With portions this hearty, even two big-eating guys like us had no trouble at all!!

Shrimp rosé spaghetti, 16,000 won

First up, the shrimp rosé pasta!! I already love rosé, so hearing there was shrimp in it too made me even more curious!

The shrimp weren't small either — they were nice and large!! With that much shrimp packed in, it hit the spot perfectly!!

The rosé sauce had just the right balance of creaminess and tomato!! I always worry a runny sauce will separate from the noodles, but here it clung to the pasta beautifully!

Beef cream spaghetti, 16,000 won

The beef cream pasta really had a ton of beef in it! With the beef packed throughout the sauce, it was so satisfying!!

It's cream-based and rich, but the texture of biting into beef here and there was great!! Among the restaurants in Songdo, Pohang, this one had not just the ocean view but the flavor to match too!

Beef chop steak, 22,000 won

We also ordered the chop steak at Plan A Restaurant! Even though it's beef, the price wasn't too heavy, which was nice!! The set came with salad, fries, and plenty of beef, which suited my taste even more!!

The beef was cut into pieces, and every bite had just the right doneness!! Thanks to the tender texture, this felt like a flavor that pretty much anyone would like without exception!

You can pair it with sauce depending on your taste, and it really brought out the beef flavor! It had been a while since I'd visited a Songdo, Pohang restaurant, and this felt like proper Italian food.

If you're heading to Songdo, Pohang for a date and want a special atmosphere, a restaurant with an ocean view like this is fantastic! The food is delicious and the prices aren't burdensome, so I think I'll be back again!!
