Pohang crab restaurant set with crab roe fried rice: Gallilli Daegae
In short
Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang is a snow crab and raw fish restaurant inside Jukdo Market in Pohang, Gyeongbuk. Two diners ordered the bakdal snow crab set for two and ate through abalone porridge, soy-marinated crab, mulhoe (cold raw fish soup), sashimi and bakdal snow crab, then finished with crab roe fried rice and spicy stew. If you want sashimi and side dishes alongside the crab rather than crab on its own, the Gallilli set is the better order.

Today I visited [ Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang (갈릴리대게회식당) ], a well-known spot in Pohang's Jukdo Market!
Where is Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang inside Pohang's Jukdo Market?
Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang is a snow crab and sashimi restaurant located deep inside Pohang's Jukdo Market. It's surrounded by other crab shops and raw fish restaurants, so it was easy to stop by while wandering the market.

When you travel to Pohang, Jukdo Market is a must-visit. We came all the way to Pohang while exploring the market too, so we thought — we have to eat snow crab! That's how we ended up here 🦀

It's located inside Jukdo Market, surrounded by lots of crab shops and raw fish restaurants, so it was a great stop while browsing the market. The tank out front had snow crab and all kinds of seafood on display.

Where do you park at Jukdo Market?
I parked at the Jukdo Market public parking lot. On the way out, they asked if I'd parked there and gave me a 1-hour free parking voucher — be sure to grab it ⭐
What the inside of Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang looks like
The interior of Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang is spacious with lots of tables, so it's great for family meals or group dining. We visited in the evening and there was a group of guests there too!
What comes with the bakdal snow crab set for two?
The bakdal snow crab set (for two) is a course that starts with abalone porridge, moves through side dishes and sashimi, then finishes with snow crab and spicy stew. While the crab is steaming, a variety of dishes come out first.

Abalone porridge arrived as soon as we sat down. Nutty and warm — a great start to the set!

Then the side dishes started coming out one by one — starting with a simple salad, followed by mains like soy-marinated crab, hoe-muchim, and mulhoe.

There's corn cheese and bread that kids love, plus seafood like hordeugi, abalone, and sea squirt! And soup to go along with it all ✨ Since there's a wait while the crab steams, there's a bit of a delay — but tasting all these different dishes is plenty to keep you occupied while you wait!

Sashimi comes before the main event, the crab! Ordering the set meant we got to eat a much wider variety than if we'd just had crab alone.

It's a full spread on the table 😆 We were already getting pretty full before the crab even arrived, haha.
How much meat was in the bakdal snow crab, and was it shelled for you?
Finally, the bakdal snow crab arrives 🦀🦐 There were 2 shrimp included too. The meat yield was good, though I wish there'd been a bit more moisture during steaming!
The crab came pre-cut for easy eating, so there was no struggling to crack the shell — just pull out the meat. There's also fun in picking out the meat tucked inside the legs, haha.

If you want to eat crab but can't give up sashimi either, the set menu is a great fit, haha.

Finishing with crab roe fried rice and spicy stew
After all that sashimi and seafood, we craved some carbs, so we ordered the crab roe fried rice! If you're planning to have the fried rice, make sure to save the crab guts 🌟 They bring you the shell when you order — ours also had some body meat left, so we mixed that in too. It's mild, so it's great with side dishes on top~ There's an extra charge for it, but at checkout the owner asked if we'd like it covered through the review event in exchange for a review — so I wrote one and left with it free~ Such a clever owner, haha.

The set ends with spicy stew. We were already pretty full, but you just can't skip the stew~ Ask a staff member and they'll bring it over — if you want sancho pepper powder, ask for that at the same time! We ordered it together with the crab roe fried rice request and let it simmer for a while.
Between the set menu and the fried rice, the two of us walked out completely stuffed. If you're visiting Jukdo Market in Pohang and want more than just crab on its own — a hearty spread of sashimi and other dishes together — try the bakdal snow crab course! That's the end of today's food adventure 🤞🏻
