Oat milk vanilla latte to go at a Suwon café: Jeong Ji-young Coffee

Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters Haenggung Main Branch is a big café on Sinpung-ro in Haenggung-dong, Suwon. Isn't the weather really nice these days? With that cool breeze starting up, I wanted to properly feel autumn, so I headed to Haenggung-dong after a while. This time I stopped by Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters Haenggung Main Branch, well known as a Haenggung-dong café/restaurant, grabbed coffee to go, and enjoyed a relaxed walk along Haengridan-gil.

Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters Haenggung Main Branch is located near the Sinpung-dong Public Parking Lot in Haenggung-dong, Suwon. There's no dedicated parking lot for the café, so if you're driving, I'd recommend using Jangan Public Parking Lot or the Suwon Museum of Art parking lot.

Can you bring a baby? The no-kids-zone rule at Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters

Apparently Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters Haenggung Main Branch runs as a no-kids-zone due to safety concerns, restricting entry for anyone under middle-school age. Since we visited with our baby, we decided to take our coffee to go instead of sitting in the café, and walk along Haengridan-gil this time. If you're planning a trip to Haenggung-dong with a baby, this is good to keep in mind.

Basement to fifth-floor rooftop: inside the Suwon café and its coffee goods

Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters Haenggung Main Branch is a fairly large Haenggung-dong café/restaurant, with the whole building — from the basement level up to a 5th-floor rooftop — used as café space.

You order at the basement level. Heading down there, I found Jeong Ji-young's branded goods displayed really hip-style, so it was fun just browsing.

They even sell cute birthday candles, haha — perfect to browse through the stylishly displayed items while waiting for your coffee.

Coming to Haengridan-gil in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, browsing pretty little shops alongside cafés is part of the fun, and here you get to see branded goods right inside the café itself, which was nice. If you're visiting Haenggung-dong on a date, this could be a good spot to check out both the café and a little shop in one stop.

Menu and prices, plus the oat milk and decaf swaps

Here's the menu and pricing info for Jeong Ji-young Coffee Roasters, a well-known Haenggung-dong café/restaurant. Pregnant customers can switch to decaf for free, and I especially liked that you can switch lattes to oat milk with no extra charge.

I was curious about the coconut menu item that's reportedly sold 1.11 million cups, but since I'd just gotten back from a trip to Vietnam, I decided to go with an iced americano (medium) and an iced vanilla latte (oat milk swap) this time. For non-coffee options there's also ade, milk tea, iced tea, chamomile and other teas, plus beers like Stella and Heineken, worth knowing about.

If we'd been sitting in the café, I would've ordered dessert too, but since it was takeout this time, we kept it simple with just coffee.

The item that really caught my eye was the earl grey fig cake. I've heard figs are especially sweet and delicious lately, and it looked so good from just the visual that I kept feeling a little wistful about missing it. Next time I come to Haenggung-dong without the baby, footloose and fancy-free, I definitely want to try it with coffee in the café.

How did the iced vanilla latte with oat milk taste?

Living up to their name as a roastery, the coffee was really solid. The iced americano was clean, and what I especially loved was the iced vanilla latte with oat milk! Rich, nutty, and subtly sweet — it hit my exact taste.

If you usually like nutty flavors, I'd recommend trying the latte with an oat milk swap. This time, with the baby along, we couldn't use the café itself, but taking the coffee to go and walking Haengridan-gil actually let us soak up the autumn weather properly. Next time I want to come back footloose and fancy-free, take it slow enjoying the café atmosphere, and try the desserts I missed out on.
