I was searching for a date-night pasta spot in Jeonpo when I came across Brassway, known around the Jeonpo café street as a Western restaurant that never disappoints. It's run by a veteran owner-chef who trained at Le Cordon Bleu — one of France's top three culinary schools — and has experience at both the Sofitel and Signiel hotels, so my expectations were sky-high before I even walked in 🫶 From the cozy atmosphere at the entrance to the gorgeous dishes and wine pairing, this review is a satisfied one — let me tell you all about it!

Tucked into the Jeonpo café street alleys: the inside and outside

Set back in the alleys of the Jeonpo café street, Brassway's exterior gives off a cozy feel. The soft lighting and modern signage catch your eye, and even from the entrance it feels like stepping into a little bistro on a European side street 🚪🕊️

Warm wood tones blend with a classic interior for a mood that's upscale yet relaxed. The tables are spaced well enough for easy conversation, and the wine glasses and objects displayed on one side of the space add to the atmosphere. It's perfect for a date, a pre-wedding gathering, or an anniversary dinner!

Every corner of the space was beautiful, and there was even a heartfelt message from the chef! You could feel the sincerity toward the food and toward every single guest 💌
The menu and what we ordered

Here's the menu, which explains the meaning behind the name Brassway! You could catch a glimpse of the chef's sincerity even here.

Alongside the signature Brassway galbi (short rib) pasta, there's a range of pastas, risottos, pizzas, steaks, and salads!

With so many tempting options, we settled on one type of pasta and a steak!
- Sous vide steak ₩34,000
- Bacon mushroom cream pasta ₩18,000
- Glass wine (moscato rosé) ₩9,000

Even the basic pickles served before the main dishes showed the chef's attention to detail. Crunchy, not overly sharp, and just the right amount of sweet-and-tangy — perfect for cleansing the palate between bites of pasta or steak! 🥒

🥩 Sous vide steak
Cooked sous vide, so there's no off odor and it's moist and tender all the way through! The doneness was perfect too — a signature dish that lives up to its reputation.

Topping it with the sweet pumpkin puree and whole grain mustard that come alongside doubles the meat's flavor! They even set out Maldon salt — and I'm firmly on team salt!! 🧂🫶

🍄 Bacon mushroom cream pasta
A cream pasta with generous chunks of bacon and mushroom, so you can really feel the texture.

The sauce is thick and deeply flavorful, and the seasoning keeps the cream from turning cloying — you can enjoy it to the last bite without getting tired of it!!

🍷 Moscato rosé (glass wine)
A light, sweet wine that even people who aren't great with wine can enjoy without pressure! With a gentle fizz and bright fruity notes, this rosé cleanly cut through the richness of the cream pasta and the juiciness of the steak — a really pleasant pairing 🎶
Final thoughts
From the dishes that showed the chef's hotel-trained skill to the glass of moscato rosé, the meal was satisfying from start to finish! The atmosphere is soft and refined, so I'd highly recommend it to anyone in Jeonpo-dong looking for a special-occasion meal or a date spot that won't disappoint 💛
