Bone-in galbi pasta and berry ade at Brassway, a Busanjin restaurant

In short

Brassway is a Western-style restaurant in Busanjin, Busan, tucked in an alley off Jeonpo-daero. The signature Brassway galbi pasta and roast chicken cream risotto, paired with a berry ade, showed off tender bone-in short rib meat and a deeply savory risotto made with a special doenjang (soybean paste) sauce. Between the Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef's quality and the friendly service, this is a place worth going back to.

Entrance view of Brassway, a Western restaurant in Jeonpo

The weather's gotten cooler lately and it's so much easier to be out and about, so I've been going out a lot more. Since I was out anyway, I figured I'd recommend a good restaurant :) It's Brassway in Jeonpo! I love Western food so I've been going restaurant-hopping through all the Western spots in Jeonpo haha. But this one was so good I had to recommend it 💗

Interior of Brassway styled like a foreign restaurant

A foreign-restaurant vibe, and seats made for photos

The interior, from the exterior all the way in, felt like it was styled after a restaurant abroad! That's probably why it's so photogenic — it'd make a perfect date spot too 🏡

Store space decorated with plants and a green backdrop

I loved the lush plants and the green backdrop! When I went, there happened to be exactly two seats left so I could sit right away, but if you go around dinnertime there might be a wait. I saw some people waiting at the outdoor tables too! For important occasions, a Naver reservation is a must.

Table with tableware set in advance
Store seating with a reserved table sign

The owner had already set the tableware at our seats ahead of time. Realizing the last two seats were actually a reserved table made me really feel how popular this Western restaurant is 🍛

Bar table area where ades are made
👥

They pull out glasses right here and make the ades on the spot! With this bar table plus the window-side tables, there were a lot of photo-friendly spots. There are also tables for 2 and 4, so I saw a lot of engagement gatherings and couples on dates.

What we ordered

Brassway's signature menu turned out to be the Brassway galbi pasta and the roast chicken cream risotto! I usually love carbonara and pizza too, so I was torn between those and the triple cheese arugula pizza, but in the end I went with the two signature dishes. They also have ade flavors like lemon, grapefruit, and berry, so keep that in mind! (Ordering is done via QR code.)

The long-awaited food arrived! Seeing other tables all order the galbi steak too made me think I'd chosen well. Brassway galbi pasta Roast chicken cream risotto Berry ade That's what we ordered 🖤

Bone-in Brassway galbi pasta

Brassway galbi pasta 🍝

The Brassway galbi pasta comes with the bone left whole in it, and it's loaded with short rib meat! The meat is neatly deboned so it's incredibly tender, and there's even some cartilage in there, but nothing was tough at all — it was soft and clean-tasting. The galbi seasoning doesn't get tiresome either, with a bit of spiciness that keeps you going back for more. Wrapping the pasta and meat together in one bite is an amazing combo.

Cream risotto topped with roast chicken

Roast chicken cream risotto 🍛

I might call this the risotto of my life... The rice grains still had a bite to them, but not in a hard way — more of a soft texture that let the cream sauce soak in perfectly, so the umami and texture were both totally alive! The reason it had that umami depth is apparently because of a special doenjang (soybean paste) sauce mixed in! The chicken in the center had a slight smoky char to it, so it felt like eating charcoal-grilled chicken.

A glass of berry ade made with carbonated water

Berry ade 🍹

A sweet strawberry ade! It's made with plain carbonated water rather than cider, mixed with fruit syrup, so it came out really clean-tasting. If you want something sweet rather than tangy, I recommend the berry ade 🌟

Western dishes on the table during the meal

My thoughts after eating

The chef trained at Le Cordon Bleu, one of the world's top three culinary schools, and I could really feel the difference in food quality — every single detail felt thought through! The staff also came by first to check if anything was uncomfortable, and were so kind that I left having had a genuinely satisfying meal :) I'm definitely coming back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
