Where Moshi Moshi PNU Branch is and where to park

Moshi Moshi PNU Branch sits at 271-5 Geumgang-ro, 1st floor, in Jangjeon-dong, Geumjeong-gu, Busan. It's not too far from the main gate of PNU, so it draws students as well as families — a genuine Jangjeon-dong sushi favorite!

For anyone driving, there's a dedicated parking lot right next to the building, and they give you a free hour, so I could visit without stressing about parking.

Inside Moshi Moshi: a big dining room with high chairs and tablet ordering

Walking in, I was surprised by how much bigger the place was than I expected. You'd think a sushi restaurant would be small and quiet, but Moshi Moshi PNU Branch has generous spacing between tables and plenty of seats, so even during busy hours you can eat without feeling cramped.

High chairs are also available, so families with young kids can visit without hassle.

Ordering at Moshi Moshi is done through the tablet on each table,

and the menu is packed with a solid variety of sushi and sides. From set menus meant for sharing to solo-friendly sushi platters, everything looked delicious, and honestly it took me forever to decide 🥹

What comes with the 35,000-won omakase sushi set

Omakase sushi set (₩35,000) for two. Today I really wanted quality, delicious sushi, so I went with the omakase sushi set 🍣

Initial table setting after ordering the omakase sushi set

First came the sides — vegetable salad, tofu salad, and miso soup!

The vegetable salad had crisp lettuce and greens topped with a generous sweet-and-tangy dressing, just the thing to wake up your appetite. Why are sushi restaurant salads always this good? 🤤

And then the tofu salad at Moshi Moshi! Their tofu salad is a real standout — soft tofu paired with a savory sauce that kept pulling my chopsticks back in!!

Not gonna hide it — we finished both the vegetable and tofu salads before the sushi even arrived, so we got a refill. The staff kindly asked if we wanted more once we'd cleaned our plates, so we happily said yes and finished that too 🫶🏻

And finally, the omakase sushi from this Jangjeon-dong favorite arrives! Can you feel how loaded this platter is?

The omakase sushi set with 12 neatly arranged pieces of sushi

Seeing all the sushi lined up in neat rows of color was such a treat for the eyes! That day's set included flounder, salmon, seared salmon, shrimp, soy-marinated shrimp, abalone, tuna, eel, and flounder fin — 12 kinds in total, and a generous spread. Let's go through them one by one 🤤

The flounder had a firm, chewy texture, with a subtle savory sweetness that spread as you chewed — a clean, classic flavor that was a great way to start. Flounder fin is a part I really love in general, with its distinctive chewy-yet-crunchy texture; the more you chew, the more savory it gets — genuinely delicious 🤍

The tuna was rich and melted in the mouth, with a savory, subtle umami that felt luxurious and indulgent.

The shrimp had a springy, bouncy texture with a mild sweetness each bite. The soy-marinated shrimp was steeped in soy seasoning for a chewy texture with a deep salty-sweet flavor — the seasoning soaked into every grain of rice, so one piece filled my mouth with umami!

The salmon kept its signature soft, moist texture, melting the moment it hit my mouth with a gentle richness. The onion and sauce on top were a perfect match! The seared salmon had a slightly charred exterior for a smoky, savory note, while the inside stayed soft — a completely different charm from raw salmon, blending smokiness with rich umami, genuinely amazing 🤎

The eel caught my eye first with its glossy, sweet-savory tare sauce coating, and the soft bite paired with the sauce's sweet-salty balance was full of umami. The eel's own richness on top made it a perfect match for me as an eel sushi lover!

The abalone had a clearly chewy texture, with a subtle ocean aroma and savory flavor deepening as you chewed — well-trimmed and springy, so it never felt tough, just pleasantly soft.

Udon and three tempura: how to build tempura udon

The udon was generously portioned too, with chewy noodles and a clean, savory broth that went really well alongside the sushi.

The tempura that came with the sushi was also unmissable — shrimp tempura, sweet potato tempura, and kabocha squash tempura, three kinds in total.

The batter was fried so crisp it practically crackled with every bite — the shrimp tempura still had that springy shrimp texture, and the sweet potato and kabocha tempura were sweet all the way through, insanely good

Here's a tip from a self-proclaimed food expert! Pile the tempura straight onto the udon that comes with the set and turn it into tempura udon — it's a real delicacy. The crispy tempura softens slightly as it meets the hot udon broth, soaking up the broth's flavor for a whole new way to enjoy it.

Is Moshi Moshi PNU Branch worth it? Final verdict

We cleaned every single plate again today ✨ Going through this Jangjeon-dong sushi favorite piece by piece, each one had its own distinct texture and flavor while still tasting genuinely fresh, so I never got tired of it and enjoyed it right to the end. This level of quality — Moshi Moshi really earns its reputation as a top PNU-area restaurant 👍🏻
