Today I'm sharing an honest review of a beef gopchang (grilled beef intestines) spot I hadn't visited in a while, Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Bangi Direct Branch in the Bangi-dong food alley.

Mon–Thu 16:00–23:00 Fri–Sun 16:00–24:00
I've always loved gopchang, makchang, and daechang and tend to hunt these places down. This time I visited Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang, known among Bangi-dong restaurants for great value and being cleanly cooked with no funky smell, so I went in with high expectations~

Where is Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Bangi Direct Branch, and what is the room like?
Come out of Jamsil Station Exit 10 and walk a little toward the Bangi-dong food alley, and you'll spot a retro-style sign that stands right out. There's often a wait during evening peak hours, so I'd recommend going a bit early or planning around that!
The interior was neatly arranged, and the tables were spaced comfortably enough to eat at ease. They even had chair space set aside for coats and bags so your clothes wouldn't soak up the smell!

One of the biggest perks here is the reasonable pricing! Beef gopchang prices have gone up a lot lately and can feel like a splurge, but this Bangi-dong gopchang specialist lets you enjoy high-quality hanwoo (Korean beef) gopchang without breaking the bank.

Free side dishes: scallion kimchi, mustard leaf kimchi and steamed egg
Once you order, the side dishes get set up! You can't talk about Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang without mentioning its signature scallion kimchi and mustard leaf kimchi! Both were nicely fermented with a sharp, tangy kick that cut right through the richness of the gopchang~! The special soy-based sauce, loaded with chili and minced garlic, was perfect for dipping.

And then there's the sauce and chive salad! The sauce has minced garlic, minari (water dropwort), and chili in it—perfect for cutting the richness!
A soft steamed egg comes included too. It softens you up before the meal and has a bit of a Japanese-style steamed egg vibe!

Griddle grilling with a timer, with staff cutting the meat for you
Finally the order I placed landed on the grill! Just the sizzling sound and sight of it cooking made my mouth water. Rice cake, potato, chives, and mung bean sprouts were all piled on generously, so the portion felt really hearty! And they hand you a timer—once it goes off, staff come over to flip and cut everything for you!
When the timer rings, they flip it and cut it up like this! I was so grateful haha... getting more impatient to eat by the second.
The staff cut everything into bite-sized pieces and gave tips on how to eat it best, which made the whole experience even easier to enjoy!

How does the hanwoo gopchang taste? Rich, fat-packed gop
Alright, everything's finally ready—time to dig into the gopchang and makchang! Getting greasy fingers ready haha!
Hanwoo gopchang first! Wow... it was so packed with savory gop (the fatty lining) inside that the more I chewed, the more that clean, nutty flavor spread through my mouth! There was zero funky smell, so even people usually sensitive to odor could enjoy this Bangi-dong restaurant without worry~!

It'd be a crime not to order a drink with this! Somaek (soju-beer cocktail) is a must, haha—an absolutely perfect match...

The gopchang here is genuinely amazing... such great value for the price! It was packed full of gop and I loved every bit of it. Now I get why people wait in line.

Makchang with potato and rice cake on the griddle
I also tried the makchang, and the tender, soft texture was outstanding! I like makchang too and it was delicious—by then the outside wait was already pretty intense.

The potato and rice cake on the side were also really tasty, haha. As a potato lover, I was in heaven 🥔😘

I kept eating without even realizing it! Wrapping it in kimchi worked great too... such a perfect pairing. Highly recommend for anyone wanting great-value gopchang!

Fried rice to finish, and the fun of scraping up nurungji (crispy rice)
After polishing off the gopchang, I dutifully added the essential final course: fried rice! Stir-fried right on the grill, it's fun to let it crisp into nurungji (crispy rice), and the savory seaweed flakes with the sweet-spicy seasoning made for the perfect finish haha.
I mixed it up enthusiastically lol. I don't even know how badly I wanted this.
It was the perfect dessert-like finish! It also went great with the makchang haha. I saw they have anchovy noodle soup too—that would probably be good as well!

Cleaned my plate completely haha. If you're looking for a fresh, great-value beef gopchang restaurant near the Bangi-dong food alley, I highly recommend visiting Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Bangi Direct Branch!
