Crab-stick keto gimbap takeout with two sauces in Euljiro: 29 Tamago
In short
29 Tamago Euljiro Branch is a keto gimbap (seaweed rice roll) restaurant on the 2nd floor near Euljiro3-ga Station in Jung-gu, Seoul, using rolled egg instead of rice. Visiting right at 5pm when break time ended, the writer got crab-stick keto gimbap and carrot rapée keto gimbap to go, each paired with its own soy-mayo or ssamjang-mayo sauce. Made to order in about 5 minutes, it turned out to be a hearty, healthy meal on its own.

I had somewhere to be in Euljiro, so I stopped by 29 Tamago — a great gimbap (seaweed rice roll) spot for eating alone! It's a healthy gimbap restaurant that uses rolled egg instead of rice.

170m from Exit 12 of Euljiro3-ga Station, above a Mega Coffee
It's located close to Euljiro Station — Mega Coffee is on the 1st floor, and 29 Tamago is on the 2nd.

Super Mario and Yoshi figures greet you at the entrance :) Walk through the cute entrance and haha...

A café-like vibe — but what about solo seating?
The interior is super clean, with white tile and wood tones, so it feels less like a gimbap shop and more like a café. I came around 5pm right after break time ended, so there were only takeout customers, but it seemed like it could get busy and hard to find a seat at lunchtime haha.

There's a solo seat right in the middle, so it didn't feel awkward at all to come alone. It even had a view of lush green trees — my favorite seat by far. Who'd have thought a restaurant in the middle of Euljiro could have a view like this! Looked great for photos too haha.

Menu and prices — what else is there besides keto gimbap?
You order at the kiosk, and first I went with keto gimbap! There are various types of keto gimbap, and besides the keto line, there's also a fusion line with rice-based gimbap and Vietnamese spring rolls, so if you want rice in your roll you can choose that option instead. There are also side dishes that go well with gimbap, so pairing it with tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) or udon seemed like it would be perfect. There were also noodle dishes like buckwheat noodles or jjolmyeon (chewy noodles)! I chose the crab-stick keto gimbap and the carrot rapée keto gimbap. Gimbap rolls are generally priced around ₩10,000, and sides are a bit cheaper.

After ordering, I looked around the interior haha. The restroom is inside, which is convenient (a surprisingly important detail!), and the cute little decor pieces were nice too.

How long does takeout take?
I really loved that they don't pre-make the gimbap and instead cook it fresh to order! They said it would take a bit of time, but it's not a dish that takes long to cook, so it was about 5 minutes for my takeout order haha.

I wanted to eat in with a side dish too, but I had somewhere to be afterward, so I got it to go. The containers were so clean and neat that they were easy to eat from even as takeout haha.

Soy-mayo and ssamjang-mayo — which sauce goes with which roll
They gave me two sauces: soy-mayo and ssamjang-mayo (soybean paste mayo), and it seemed like each roll had its ideal match. They kindly wrote it on the sauce lids, so you can just match it to whichever gimbap you bought. My keto crab-stick roll goes with soy-mayo, and the keto carrot rapée goes with ssamjang-mayo. Even the same roll tastes different depending on which sauce you dip it in. Between the two, ssamjang-mayo was a bit more to my taste!

No rice, all keto — is it filling enough for a full meal?
Time to dip it right into the sauce~ The rolls are huge, filling your mouth completely, but they have a healthy taste so they're easy to eat without feeling guilty. The keto carrot rapée gimbap is packed with rolled egg and carrot rapée, and the crab-stick keto gimbap is loaded with rolled egg plus healthy vegetables like cabbage, burdock root, and carrot haha. It was much more filling than it looked, so it was perfect as a full meal.

Ate it all up and got my energy back haha! Even the chopsticks were a nice touch haha.
Who would this be good for
- Anyone curious about gimbap without rice
- Anyone eating alone in Euljiro who wants a light meal
- Anyone looking for something simple to take back to the office
It was such a satisfying light meal that next time I want to sit down and try the apple-carrot broth tteokbokki along with another keto gimbap. Right at that window seat with the greenery~ haha.
