In short
Mat Chandeul Wang Sogeum Gui Yangju Branch is a samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly) restaurant on Okjeong-dong-ro 7da-gil in Yangju, Gyeonggi. Three adults came for lunch and ordered three servings of samgyeopsal plus steamed egg, cold buckwheat noodles and cola, and because the lunch promotion runs until 5pm they also received two servings of stone-pot rice and doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) for free. Staff grilled every piece of meat at the table, so this second visit to Mat Chandeul ended with a 100% intention to return.

Today I want to introduce a real must-visit pork belly spot in Yangju. It's Mat Chandeul Wang Sogeum Gui Yangju Branch, and honestly this was already my second visit. My first time here was so good that the memory stuck with me and I had to come back. I think it's fair to call this a lifetime-best pork belly restaurant at this point.
Where to park at Mat Chandeul Wang Sogeum Gui Yangju Branch

Mat Chandeul Wang Sogeum Gui Yangju Branch has parking available in the Bujaro Tower basement lot. Three of us adults visited and used the basement parking with no trouble. If it happens to be full, they also support parking at Dream Tower, so you really don't have to worry about it. For anyone hunting for good food in Yangju, parking convenience is such a key point — this place clearly passes on that front.

The lunch deal until 5pm: free stone-pot rice and stew
At Mat Chandeul Wang Sogeum Gui Yangju Branch, ordering three servings of meat gets you two servings of stone-pot rice and doenjang stew as a free extra. We visited during the daytime, right around lunch, and there's a genuinely great tip here that would be a shame to miss. Just note that this perk only applies until 5pm, so if you're planning a lunch visit, keep that in mind. Thanks to this generous setup, we also got solid value for money, which made the whole meal even more satisfying.

What three people ordered: samgyeopsal, steamed egg and cold noodles
At Mat Chandeul Wang Sogeum Gui Yangju Branch we ordered three servings of samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly) plus steamed egg, cold noodles and cola on top. First up, the steamed egg was moist, perfectly seasoned, and had that savory flavor down to a science. Its soft texture went really well eaten alongside the meat. It might just be the best side dish for the job.

Cold noodles served generously with somyeon (thin wheat noodles)
The mul-naengmyeon (cold noodle soup) came out with somyeon (thin wheat noodles) in a really generous portion, and the broth was savory and refreshingly cold — genuinely delicious. I usually avoid naengmyeon because the noodles tend to be too chewy for me, but the noodles here were soft and the broth balance was so good it was completely my type. If you're looking for good naengmyeon in Yangju, I'd definitely recommend trying this one too.

Staff grill the pork belly for you
The main event, the samgyeopsal, had fresh, high-quality meat, and eating it with the side dishes felt almost like an omakase experience. What was especially great was that staff grilled everything to perfection for us, so all we had to do was eat comfortably. Not having to worry about grilling meant we could focus entirely on the conversation, which made for a much more relaxed meal.

Finishing with stone-pot rice and doenjang stew
Toward the end of the meal, the stone-pot rice and doenjang stew arrived, and the rice was glistening and looked absolutely delicious. Pouring water in to make nurungji (scorched rice) out of it was pure perfection. The doenjang stew was piping hot and full of that deep, savory flavor, and eating it alongside the pork belly made for a filling finish.
Final verdict on Mat Chandeul Yangju Branch
With a base of three servings of samgyeopsal plus steamed egg and cold noodles, we already ate a really generous meal, and getting stone-pot rice and doenjang stew as a free extra on top made the portion plentiful and the whole meal feel well worth it. If you're looking for a good pork belly restaurant in Yangju, I highly recommend visiting Mat Chandeul Wang Sogeum Gui Yangju Branch, especially at lunchtime. Make sure to take advantage of the lunch service menu for an even more satisfying meal. This is a place I'd return to with 100% certainty next time!
