When you're traveling, there are places that win you over the second you walk in — the first impression of the space just does it. Sigan-eul Damda (시간을담다) Gujwa branch, tucked into a neighborhood that holds all of Jeju's scenery, was exactly that kind of place! Delicious coffee, a fragrant diffuser, and a walk down a Jeju-style stone-wall alley — this café had it all ✨

Parking and first impressions

There's parking for about 3 cars right in front of the store, so I pulled in easily 🚗

The reflection pool that hits you right as you walk in is seriously stunning 💧 It's so shimmering that I was gasping from the entrance. I had a feeling photos here would turn out great haha

What you can do at the reflection pool
There were also some special activities the café runs here! ⛵️
- Wish candle experience: After leaving a Naver receipt review, you can pay ₩3,000 to float a wish candle on the water, writing down wishes for health, luck, and so on 🕯️ This reminded me of Hoi An, Vietnam (makes me want to go back..)
- Free paper boat experience: Anyone using the café can try this for free! One free sheet per person — fold a piece of colored paper into a boat and float it on the reflection pool.
- Getting the ultimate reflection-pool shot: Stand where the red marker is, hold your camera as low as possible in front of the building, and you can capture a gorgeous mirror-image shot 📸 On a clear day, you're guaranteed a great photo!

Wisteria flowers cascading from the ceiling
The interior was genuinely amazing — wisteria flowers were arranged to cascade down from the ceiling 💜 I never got a proper look at lavender when I went to Sapporo, so I got my fix here with the wisteria instead lol

The counter and dessert showcase
At the counter, a clean menu board greets you along with a showcase full of tempting desserts 🤗 Gujwa is famous for its carrots, so naturally the carrot juice and carrot cake are the signature items here too 🥕 On the tray next to it, the little props for the wish candle and free paper boat activities were cutely arranged, so it was fun just to look around ✨

Diffusers with the scent of Jeju
The moment I stepped through the door, a subtle, lovely scent hit me and instantly lifted my mood — turns out the café sells diffusers and room fragrances infused with the scent of Jeju all over the store! They'd make a perfect souvenir or gift 🎁

Even the bathroom had scented Dol Hareubang (stone grandfather) soap 🧼 I kind of wanted to take one home lol

So what does the carrot tteora cake taste like?
I ordered iced americano (₩5,500), iced café latte (₩6,000), and the signature carrot tteora cake (₩8,000) — three things ☕️ The moment the cake arrived, I actually gasped at how it looked... the tiny carrot shapes on top are unbelievably cute 🥹

They give you a card explaining how to eat the carrot tteora, and following the instructions, it really has a rice-cake-like chewy texture — so strange and so good! There are little bits of carrot packed inside too, adding texture and sweetness — it's the best 🥕 If you come here, you have to order this, seriously 👍

A stroll down the stone-wall alley outside the café
The alley around the café is unreal ㅠㅠ This is exactly the Jeju stone-wall vibe you picture in your head!! After coffee, walking through the alleys, looking around, and taking photos was so much fun. Even a random shot against the stone wall comes out looking like your best photo ever 📸
A gorgeous reflection pool, a fragrant diffuser corner, tasty desserts, and a stone-wall alley stroll — everything lined up perfectly here 🥰 If you're ever near Sehwa on Jeju, definitely stop by!
