In short
Beautae Esthetic is a facial and contouring esthetic on the 6th floor of Hyoryeong Building, 5 minutes from Exit 5 of Myeongdong Station, Seoul. Dealing with a puffy-looking jawline and dehydrated skin, this writer got a V-line contouring treatment, and afterward the face outline looked more defined, the midface filled out, and the skin got that inner glow. My face had been looking a bit puffy lately, so I finally went in for a treatment after a while. I hadn't suddenly gained weight, but in photos my face looked wider than before, and especially my cheeks and jawline felt duller and less defined than they used to be. On top of that, my skin condition had also gone downhill, so lately every time I looked in the mirror I felt kind of down about it.
I've always had a tendency toward inner dryness, but lately even when I carefully layer on my basics, my skin dries out fast, redness pops up on my cheeks, and my pores seemed more visible than usual. Between my skin and my face line, I was in a total slump, so I went looking for somewhere to turn things around — and that's how I ended up at Beautae Esthetic, a skin clinic in Myeongdong!

So this time, instead of just getting a hydration treatment, I wanted to work on both my skin and my facial contour together, so I went to Beautae Esthetic.

Beautae, a Myeongdong contouring specialist, is on the 6th floor of Hyoryeong Building, about 5 minutes' walk from Exit 5 of Myeongdong Station. I'd booked ahead through Naver, and at the start they checked both my skin condition and my face line together.

When you walk in, you leave your shoes in the shoe cabinet and change into slippers, then go straight into the consultation!

The interior was nicely decorated, clean, and had a relaxed atmosphere!
What I heard during the consultation — inner dryness and facial balance
Once I sat down, they gave me a bottle of water and went through a questionnaire while doing the consultation! It turned out my skin was even more dehydrated than I'd thought, and they explained that because my skin was dry, my texture wasn't smooth and my pores could look more noticeable too.
And the part I was most self-conscious about was, of course, my face line! Especially the way my cheeks and jaw area looked rounded and spread out — but they said that instead of just pressing hard to make the face look smaller, it's important to work with the overall balance of the face.
So what exactly is the V-line contouring treatment?
The treatment I got this time was the V-line contouring treatment. They explained that if fat is concentrated on one side of the face or volume is bunched up in a specific area, the face can look wider than it actually is — so the treatment works to smooth out those areas so the overall contour flows naturally. It felt like they were untangling the areas that looked bunched up and puffy so the volume of the face reads as more balanced overall.
After hearing that explanation, it made sense to me why they don't just aim to "make the face smaller," but look at the balance of the whole face instead.

The treatment room itself was kept clean, and since there were lockers inside the room, I could change privately, which I liked! During the treatment, they focused especially on my cheeks and jaw area, and I discovered a spot that was surprisingly tense — I guess I'd been putting a lot of pressure on one side without realizing it. There were things I only noticed once I was getting the treatment.

My face line and skin right after the treatment
When it was over and I looked in the mirror, the first thing I noticed was my face line. It wasn't like my face suddenly shrank — rather, the puffiness around my cheeks had gone down and my jawline flowed more smoothly. Looking straight on, the outer edges of my face looked more cleanly defined than before.
Also, my midface had been a bit sunken, and that area felt like it had filled back out — like volume had been restored, without any pain.
And with my skin getting cared for at the same time, my whole look felt different. Before the treatment my skin had been dull with a hint of redness, but afterward it felt plump and dewy. In particular, it felt like the deep hydration had been restored, and my skin felt more comfortable overall.

The treatment I got happened to be running as a promotion at the time, so I'm sharing that here too!!
What I was most satisfied with: the inner glow
✨ On the skin side, what I was most satisfied with was the inner glow. It wasn't a greasy shine from oil — it was more like my skin itself got hydrated and gave off a soft, natural radiance. Normally no matter how much basic skincare I pile on, it dries out fast, but on the day of the treatment, my skin texture itself looked noticeably smoother.
My pores were similar. Of course they didn't suddenly disappear, but once the skin was filled with moisture, the surface got smoother, so the pores looked less noticeable than before. The redness also looked calmer than before the treatment.

These photos are from a week after the treatment, and my face line was clearly still tidied up, and the fact that my midface looked fuller and made my face look shorter was what I liked most!! Beautae Esthetic, a contouring facial in Myeongdong, really evens out asymmetry well too!
Points I noticed from this treatment
- 💧 Less inner dryness, deep hydration restored
- 🛡️ Skin that had been dry and sensitive felt calmer
- ✨ Skin texture became smoother with a natural inner glow
- 🔍 Pores looked less noticeable than before
- 🌿 Skin that had been reddish looked calmer
- 💆🏻♀️ Cheeks and jaw area tidied up, contour looked sharper
- 🤍 Areas where volume had looked bunched up felt more balanced
I thought contouring treatments would hurt — turns out no
Honestly, I thought a contouring treatment meant painfully pressing hard into the face, but it wasn't as intense as I expected. It didn't feel like strong pressure on the face — more like they were releasing the tense, bunched-up areas and tidying up the overall line.
And after the treatment, my face felt a bit lighter too. Since my main concern had always been my face looking wide in photos, having my contour tidied up was the most satisfying part. With my skin also feeling moisturized and glowing, my whole face looked cleaner, and I ended up taking like a hundred selfies!
Who this is a good fit for
So if you're looking for facial contouring in Myeongdong and you don't just want your face line worked on but also want your skin condition taken care of at the same time, this seems like a good option. If you're like me — with severe inner dryness, skin that flushes easily, and pores that bother you — when you're looking into a facial in Myeongdong, check whether hydration or barrier care is included as well!
On the flip side, if your face tends to swell or your cheeks look puffy every time you take a photo, getting the V-line contouring treatment at Beautae in Myeongdong along with your facial seems like a good idea.
Overall, this treatment felt less about forcing the face to look smaller and more about tidying up the puffy or bunched-up volume so the face line comes through naturally. If you're looking for an esthetic in Myeongdong and would rather get contouring and skin care done together instead of separately, this is a place I'd recommend :)
