Songdo sushi restaurant with tempura, udon and chawanmushi: Sushi Doku

When sushi is on my mind in Songdo

Finding somewhere to eat in Songdo is oddly stressful. I want something clean but not too light, and I don't want a place with great atmosphere but disappointing food. 😅

This time I really wanted proper sushi, so I went to Sushi Doku The Songdo. It's inside Onesta Mall so it was easy to find, and I'd heard it's famous for having a line even on regular days, so I was curious. 👀

Easy to find on the 2nd floor of Onesta Mall

Sushi Doku The Songdo is at 157 Songdo-guk jero, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, on the 2nd floor of Onesta Mall. Being inside the building made it easy to get to even on bad-weather days, and parking was available in the building's own lot, which made visiting a lot less of a hassle. 🚗 The listed store info also confirms parking is available.

There really were a lot of people

When I visited, the place was buzzing. I'd heard it's usually a restaurant with a wait, and I could really feel that it's a popular spot people seek out in Songdo. Even with a full house, the staff's friendly service left a great first impression. 😊

Today's order: Premium Myeongpum Sushi for Two

I didn't even hesitate — I ordered the Premium Myeongpum Sushi for Two. Just the name makes you want to eat something proper. 😆 According to the current menu info, the '10-piece Premium Myeongpum Sushi set' is one of their signature items.

✨ Sushi always feels more exciting when a big spread is laid out in front of you at once. Seeing the neatly arranged sushi made me want to take photos first. 📸 The colors were pretty and each piece had a different shape, so there was a lot to look at even within one plate.

Tasting it piece by piece

Sushi is all about the balance between rice and fish, and overall the balance here was solid. You taste the topping first, and the rice follows naturally after, so I kept reaching for one piece after another. 😋 Being able to try many kinds at once made me think this would suit anyone hunting for Incheon restaurants who also loves sushi.

It's not just sushi — it's a full meal

The sushi set meal at Sushi Doku The Songdo isn't just sushi on its own. The store's menu info also lists tempura, udon, and chawanmushi (steamed egg) alongside the sushi set, making it well suited as a full meal.

So instead of feeling like something was missing after the sushi, I felt like I'd had a proper meal. 🍤

The staff were nice too

At a restaurant, the food matters, but the staff's service tends to stick in your memory too. The staff here were friendly and attentive overall, so I could eat comfortably without any awkward moments. That's a nice touch for a busy Songdo, Incheon restaurant like this. 🌿

When sushi comes to mind in Songdo

The Premium Myeongpum Sushi for Two I tried this time suited a day when I wanted to enjoy many kinds of sushi at once. Being inside Onesta Mall also meant less worry about parking, and I liked that I could pair the meal with other errands nearby before or after. 🚗
