Today I visited Sushi Doku, a sushi spot famous in Songdo, Incheon. Honestly, it is one of my repeat-visit places. I came earlier this year, and it seems even more popular than it was then. On the day I visited, people started waiting before noon on a weekday.
Sushi Doku The Songdo location and hours
It is Sushi Doku The Songdo on the second floor of Onesta Mall, 157 Songdo-gukje-daero, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon. It is open daily from 11:00 to 21:00, with a break from 14:30 to 17:00 and last orders at 20:15. You can use the building’s underground parking.

Sushi Doku is on the second floor of Onesta Mall, across from Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo. If you get off at Technopark Station and come up, Onesta Mall is right in front of you. (There is also a connecting path to the outlet.)

A setting suited to dates and meetups with friends
The interior feels modern and neat. With its wood-and-black palette, it has the calm, polished feel of an upscale sushi restaurant. It would be great for a date or a get-together with friends. I recommend reserving if there are six or more of you.

Here are the signature menu items. Most people go for the sushi set meals, though you can of course order individual sushi too. Takeout is a little less expensive because it includes sushi only, not a set meal.

Ordering the Signature Sushi Set and extras
Ordering is easy on the tablet at your table.
- Signature Sushi Set ₩25,900
- Tamago Katsu ₩5,900
- Otoro Sushi ₩6,900
Maybe five minutes after ordering, the Signature Sushi Set arrived right away.

The Signature Sushi Set comes with 10 pieces of sushi, chawanmushi (Japanese steamed egg custard), udon, salad, and two kinds of fried items—karaage and shrimp. The sushi includes salmon, flounder, akami, ika, red shrimp, sea bream, red snow crab meat, sweet shrimp, eel, and ankimo.

Isn’t that such a great spread? It felt like omakase arranged on one tray. It was incredibly filling for one meal. Let’s take a look at each item.

Chawanmushi as soft as pudding
The chawanmushi, Japanese-style steamed egg, was jiggly and soft like pudding. Ginkgo nuts and shrimp inside gave it a delightful surprise too.

Salad and refillable mini udon
The salad with its nutty dressing had baby greens, carrot, cherry tomatoes, and more. And the mini udon was so good too, haha. (Apparently, you can get a refill.) Now that I had a bite of salad as an appetizer, it was time for the main event!
A staff member explained how to eat it: brush soy sauce onto the sushi. They also kindly told me to eat the sushi from white fish to red fish, haha.
Like this, hahaha. Brushing on the soy sauce is fun every time I come. It kind of feels like a little performance I get to make myself.

The salmon and ika sushi were especially delicious
Now, I properly dug in. 🍣 Can you see that salmon? Such a wonderfully long salmon tail! There was no fishiness at all, and salmon’s characteristic richness blended beautifully with the rice for a nutty flavor.
And then there was the ika sushi that surprised me most. I actually do not usually like ika, or squid. But its chewy yet springy texture was insane. Why was this one so delicious? 😋 Honestly, everything was tasty, but the salmon and ika were the absolute standouts.
And here are the extra items I ordered!

Crispy yet moist tamago katsu
Tamago katsu is fried rolled egg. The fried items here were crispy and tasty too, so I decided to order it. As expected, it did not disappoint. Crisp on the outside and moist and tender within—the contrasting textures were so good.

Otoro sushi that melts away
Lastly, the otoro sushi I ordered separately. It is fatty tuna sushi topped with shredded seaweed, making it feel even more luxurious. It melted away the moment it hit my mouth... 🥺 This delicious item is also being offered through a review event, so definitely try it.
Final thoughts on Sushi Doku The Songdo
Flavor: pass. Presentation: pass. Atmosphere: pass. It is the kind of place that makes you think, why not go? First of all, the food is delicious. The tray was so prettily arranged that taking photos as soon as it arrived was part of the fun too. 📷 It is great for a gathering and just right for treating someone. Do go at least onceee.
