Yeonnam-dong restaurant open at 3pm: Pastiar shrimp toowoomba pasta

In short

Pastiar is a homemade European home-style restaurant on Donggyo-ro 38an-gil in Yeonnam-dong, Seoul. Because Pastiar has no break time, the writer walked in at 3pm and ordered the sous vide steak for 27,000 won and the shrimp toowoomba pasta for 17,000 won, both served with the owner's own ratatouille sauce and handmade pickles. With the atmosphere, cleanliness and service all in place, Pastiar is an easy recommendation for a date-night Western restaurant in Yeonnam-dong.

Inside Pastiar: like a small European home-style dining room

I went out to Yeonnam-dong with a friend and ended up at Pastiar, a homemade Western restaurant with great atmosphere where every dish is full of the owner's love!

We came around 3pm and I loved that there's no break time >.<

The moment we walked in I was hit with the interior — wood-tone tables, soft lighting, stylish paintings on the walls all working together, giving off the warmth of a small European home-style restaurant. Plus the warm sunlight coming through the window — perfect ✨

How clean is Pastiar? The hygiene is the real standout

The dining hall and tables were spotless, no question, but the bathroom was insanely clean, seriously. It's rare to find a restaurant bathroom this pleasant, and it really shows how meticulous the owner is — my trust shot way up.

Homemade at Pastiar: ratatouille sauce and handmade pickles

The owner couple at Pastiar make every ingredient and sauce themselves, all handmade.

In the showcase inside the restaurant, fresh lemons, grapefruits, homemade pickles, and homemade tomato sauces are all lined up in glass jars! Given how neat and tidy the owner is, you can just imagine how fresh and carefully everything was made.

Wow, it's an open kitchen and it's soooo clean.

Super cute cat coasters, hehe. After we finished eating I asked if I could use my laptop for a bit, and the owner very kindly said go right ahead >.<

Iced Americano at Pastiar

The iced Americano here is genuinely delicious. I don't usually like sour, acidic Americanos, but this one was heavy and nutty, so good. A hidden Americano spot, seriously.

Sous vide steak plated over ratatouille sauce

Sous vide steak, 27,000 won, served with ratatouille sauce

Sous vide steak / ₩27,000. Maybe because of the low-temperature sous vide method, the juices stayed locked inside and the texture was truly tender — soft like tataki, melts in your mouth. The plate is generously lined with an authentic French-style ratatouille tomato sauce (made by the owner), with a side of fresh salad, carrot rapé, and wasabi.

Just as the owner told us, scooping up a generous spoonful of the rich ratatouille sauce from the bottom and putting it on top of the steak — absolutely fantastic combination.

A slice of sous vide steak topped with ratatouille sauce

The tomato flavor and the savory vegetables blend with the meat in a way that made me gasp. Add a little of the sharp wasabi on top and the balance is perfect ㅠ. And the portion is generous too!

So delicious,, wouldn't it be great if I could fill up on protein this tasty every day.

Shrimp toowoomba pasta, 17,000 won: how creamy is it?

Shrimp toowoomba pasta / ₩17,000. We ordered this to go with the steak, and it didn't let us down either. When they served it, they gently warned us that the bowl was hot — that kind of thoughtful detail was touching.

Shrimp toowoomba pasta piled with shrimp

Plump, bouncy shrimp piled generously on top, perfect visuals from the start. The sauce is creamy and rich with a hint of spiciness, so it never gets that usual cream-sauce heaviness — you devour it down to the very last bite. Sous vide steak and toowoomba pasta, a combo you can trust.

The springy snap of the shrimp with each bite, paired with noodles fully coated in sauce — no words needed.

Empty pasta plate and pickle dish after finishing

Even the pickles disappeared by the end — evidence of a clean sweep. So good,,,ㅜㅜ

With a cool breeze drifting through the restaurant, good music, and delicious food, I was pretty much the happiest person in the world.

Is Pastiar worth it? Final verdict on this Yeonnam-dong restaurant

If you're looking for a pasta and steak spot in Hongdae/Yeonnam-dong with great atmosphere and food you can count on, I'd recommend Pastiar without hesitation! Cozy, pretty interior, a kind owner, and homemade everything from pickles to sauces — a space that's missing nothing.
