Stone-plate jajangmyeon and handmade tungbosha with friends in Paju

In short

Dolpanseok Jjamppong Paju Simhaksan Branch is a stone-plate Chinese restaurant in the Simhaksan restaurant alley near Lotte Premium Outlets in Paju, Gyeonggi. Three friends visited on a weekday at 11:30am and ordered the large nurungji dolpan jajangmyeon (serves 3–4, ₩40,000) and handmade tungbosha 4pcs (₩15,000) on medium-spicy, and the portions were too much for the three of them to finish. The juicy handmade tungbosha and the nurungji (scorched rice) mixed with self-serve green onion kimchi were the standout bites.

Chinese dish cooking on a stone plate

🍑 Hi, this is Apricot. I visited Dolpanseok Jjamppong, a Paju Simhaksan restaurant. It's a Chinese place that cooks everything sizzling on a stone plate right in front of you, and I heard you could try an original jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) made without starch, so my friends and I went to check it out~ Rice refills are free too, so if you order jjamppong I feel like you'd want to mix rice into it 🥰 What surprised me most was the handmade tungbosha. It's 100% handmade with plump shrimp, and one bite was so juicy that all of us went 👍👍 and said it was genuinely delicious. Under the dolpan jajang there's nurungji (scorched rice), and eating it with the green onion kimchi made me so happy 💕 Let's get into today's delicious story!

Location and how to get there

Dolpanseok Jjamppong, a Paju Simhaksan restaurant, is near Lotte Premium Outlets. It's in the Simhaksan restaurant alley, a great spot for a family meal or a drive date after a weekend outing.

The way to Dolpanseok Jjamppong in the Simhaksan restaurant alley

There's a large parking lot in front of the store, so you can park with no worries and walk right in! It opens at 11am, and even on a weekday there were customers right as the doors opened.

A cozy interior with partitions

I only took photos of the sections with no customers. It's set up with partitions like this so families can have a private, comfortable time.

My friends and I arrived around 11:30 and sat in a seat just like this. It's so nice to dig in with your friends in a spot where you can't see anyone in front or behind you 😃

Pickled radish and onion served as basic side dishes
Plate of green onion kimchi from the self-serve bar

They don't bring the green onion kimchi from the self-serve bar to you. Only pickled radish and onion come as basic side dishes, so go grab the kimchi yourself before eating~!

Check the clip for the sizzling sound! There were three of us, but the serving was for 3–4 people, so it was too much for three of us to finish. Eating the nurungji and green onion kimchi underneath was a real treat!

Cross-section of handmade tungbosha (4pcs) with sauce

Handmade tungbosha (4pcs) is a must-order

The handmade tungbosha (4pcs) genuinely surprised me with how good it was 🥰 It's full of juicy filling inside, the sauce is great, and above all it's truly "tungbo" (chubby) just like the name says. Every bite makes you happier, that kind of flavor — definitely order it!
