Today I went to Working Holiday Minrak, a brunch café in Gwangalli! I'd known about it for a while since it's so famous as a Gwangalli brunch spot, and I found out it's famous for good reason haha.
I couldn't help but think — is there really a brunch café this good for group gatherings, family gatherings, and family meals out in Gwangalli? It's got great vibes for a date too, and it's famous for really delicious pasta, so I'd recommend it as a Western food restaurant as well. Let's get into the review!

The inside of Working Holiday Minrak was way bigger than I expected — I was honestly surprised! No wonder they say it's great for family gatherings and group meetups!
The atmosphere was so nice I couldn't help but be impressed — I get why it's always packed with people no matter the time of day!
You could enjoy the Gwangalli beachfront from pretty much any seat, which I loved, and honestly I personally think this Minrak side is even prettier than the main Gwangalli café strip.
Overall it felt like they leaned into a warm mood! There was such a variety of seating that you could just pick whatever spot you wanted, which I really liked.

Working Holiday Minrak uses kiosk ordering, which was nice since you could pick by looking at the photos! This time we ordered jambon pizza (26,000 won), French toast (17,000 won), zero-sugar cola (3,000 won), and an Americano (5,500 won), for a total of 51,500 won.

The French toast (17,000 won) at Working Holiday Minrak floored me right from the cute little scoop of ice cream on top. So cute, right? And the French toast itself was actually even better than I expected — floored, again.
This puts the French toast I've had in Japan to shame! It was way better than I expected, so I'd strongly recommend giving it a try at least once.
The combo with the ice cream genuinely put a smile on my face — it made me want to clap! 🫶🏻 It was the textbook definition of crisp-outside-soft-inside, with sweetness soaking all through the fluffy inside — totally my style! Honestly better than the famous JD French toast place in Korea.
Jambon pizza, 26,000 won — the staff's top recommendation
The jambon pizza (26,000 won) is what the staff strongly recommended. They said the owner puts a huge amount of care into the pizza and that we'd definitely notice the difference from other places, so we ordered it and gave it a try — and honestly, it was better than the pizza I had in Italy not long ago. It had a strong Naples-style feel! And, well, cost of living is highest in Korea anyway, so...
On a chewy Naples-style pizza dough, jambon (ham) and burrata were piled on generously, and the pistachio cream was the real kicker. It was spread on generously enough that you could really dig in, and since I'm a huge fan of the pistachio plus burrata combo, it was genuinely delicious 😍😍
Is Working Holiday Minrak worth a visit?
If you're looking for a great brunch spot in Gwangalli, I'd recommend Working Holiday Minrak!! Parking was so convenient too, so it was a place I could be satisfied with in every respect. I get why people say it's the best brunch spot in Gwangalli — no wonder at all. I'd wanted to visit for a while, and I'm glad I finally made it!
